Kane has some control issues...by the time he got to the point of being able to buy her back, that was the last thing on his mind. Shit needed to blow up at that point.

Remember...he's not exactly stable. Which will make dating his daughter (if he and Kat ever have kids) or /dev/grrl (whom he's basically adopted) a really interesting experience for the poor bastard who gets the stones to ask her out.

Forgive me if it's been posted already (this is a pretty long thread), but whatever happened to Findler-Man? He's referenced as being the level 6 example on Street knowledge in 4th ed, and whenever I read the books back in the day, I know F-M had the skinny. But he's been gone since the edition change, so I assumed he went down in Crash 2.0. I'll have to dig up System Failure and see if he's posting post-Crash. If a Fallen Heroes book ever came out (and I think old-timer players like me would adore that!) I'd love to see him. Hell, I spent years looking for a simple PICTURE of Daviar until Street Legends came out! Just having a pic of Captain Chaos would be divine.

And it would be great to know what The Smiling Bandit is up to, these days. Y'know, besides supposedly being an old man in a shack somewhere in Mexico, if you believe the rumors...

Bandit is written up in Street Legends Supplemental. I'm pretty sure Findler-Man went down in Crash 2.0, as you said, but I'm not positive. He might have just retired.

"Um...  Hello, Sir.  I'm here to pick up dev.  ...  ...  ...  Please stop pointing the shotgun at me."

"Oh, this.  Sorry, thought you were someone else.  Come on in."

"Thank you, Sir."

"Now this is an Ares Alpha that I'll be pointing at you.  Don't worry however, I only have my finger on the grenade launcher's trigger when I'm pointing it at you.  Home by ten, and if you try anything, well...  I taught her how to handle people that try anything with her.  Personally.  Trust me, you'll wish I dealt with you myself."

Although, part of me has to wonder if he couldn't have just bought her free for a tiny fraction of that, given that they were already willing to trade her back before Fed-Boeing started raising a stink.
Yeah, but where's the fun in just buying her freedom?

Just grabbed my System Failure to be sure. No Findler after the Crash. Ci est la vie.

It would be nice to know what Peregrine (Of Arcology Resistance fame) and Renraku Fox are up to these days, come to think of it. And I would DEFINITELY like to know if Puck is still trapped where he's at. It's been a little while, and you can only have the kind of damage he's sporting for so long...

Wired as he is to a megacorporate experimentation table with an exposed brain, stuck in a Faraday cage.

Last one before bed for the day: I've been curious just who Icarus is. I don't have the supplementals yet, so again I may be jumping the gun. I have my suspicions s/he (it?) is a synthetic. Just a hunch.

And a write-up on Pax would be amazing, as well, though I suspect there is a lot of plot in the works there. Much earlier someone mentioned Cinder, and that she might be Peri (FastJack's daughter). I always found that piece of fiction thrilling, and was disappointed when I could not find any other posts by Cinder before or after (and I have almost every 1-3 ed SR book. Guy's gotta have a hobby.;] ). The scrambled text of "ASHESTOASHES"... *shivvers* I love it when SR gets scary and conspiracy-y. :)

Puck is freed in Corporate Intrigue. Yes, he does have a few anger issues. In the mission following the one where Netcat frees him, you come across him sitting in front of the burning building of the MCT subsidiary that he was captured in.

I'd like to add Traveler Jones and Khan-A-Saur to the list, they post in almost every city discussion.

I believe it's been hinted (Street Legends?) that Icarus is Miles Lanier's child.

FastJack has mentioned seeing the birth of his daughter as one of the best things he's ever seen.  It was while he was trying to watch a Trid Show LEGALLY instead of pirating it.

I think he's still looking for someone to punch in the junk.

Portfolio of a Dragon (49). Dragons of the Sixth World (25).

Most of the Dissonant Voices chapter of Threats 2 features and is about her.

Wasn't that Cinder's only appearance?

And go figure Portfolio of a Dragon is one of the few I haven't got. I'll get there. :)
