Well, the next chamber (just a little smaller than the previous) doesn't seem to contain any spirits nor Aztec mages.
It does however contain an anchored spell.

The spell itself looks like a swirling globe of redish in colour, highly condensed mana. You recognize that the spell has been cast by the same aspect of magic as the surrounding background count. It easily melds with the surrounding wisps of mana that seem to strenghten it.

The ball of mana is hung in the intricate web of mana threads, that are linking it to the next doors. You might try to pass the doors in the astral without triggering the spell, but the mundanes that follow you have no chance to do so.

Sam Tries to stand as close to the room as possible to use his radar sensor to take a peak into it. his taser ready and fully loaded just in case there is some problems approaching.

The next room is slightly smaller (4 meter width, 6 meter length) than the one you're currently in. and it is also ending with a doors.
Afterward the next room seem to start with a short (1 meter long) tunnel that widen up to the 4 meters width and about 12 meter length to and with another doors.
The  room contains some furniture. It's diffuicult to ascertain through the radar readings over two pairs of doors, but it's probably a bed, a sink, a toilet and a bathtub.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

Lips goes back before someone triggers that alarm spell.

"Gentlemen, this door and the next room looks clear, in a magical point of view, but the next door is connected to an powerfull combat spell, so don't open it, please. I will try to disarm this beauty."

Taking some seconds to think about it, and look deeper into the mana structur of this trap, Lips decides to trigger the trap by force. It was far to powerfull to try to disarm or bypass it, specially with all this astral background mist, floating around.

"Okay. Here is my plan. One of you open the door, I shoot at the trap to trigger it and at that second you quickly close the door again. Hopefully, either it has a pre-defined target or if it has no target in sight, it just dissolve by itself.

Only problem, whoever placed that spell, will notices that it has been triggered. So maybe this mage Enrico will come and look what his trap has trapped next.  "

Quote from: if nobody intervenes and someone open the door
Mana Bolt Force 4: 3 hits; Drain Resistance: 4 hits

Drain: (Force 4+1)/2 = 2, no damage
Lips keeps ready to at least use counterspelling for defence.

Uh, Mr. Lips? Do you think sending in a drone first would help? If the other group went this way wouldn't their be any signs of their passing? Was the door that we went through warded and the trap previously sprung--indicating the passage of the previous team? If the trap is set off will it reset? Did you see the dog?

"Usually, a mage has to renew the spell in person, so usually a magical trap does not reset itself.

Hence, if the drone can open the door, it probably trigger the spell and only the drone is under attack, assuming no one else is in the room, of course. After that, it should be save to move further. If you want to send one of those maschines, thats okay with me too.

And no dog in that room by the way."

Fractal looks concerned. He thinks for a little while on the entire situation, and then adds his 0,2Ą to the pile of verbal contributions:

"Thanks for the scouting, Mister Lips. Even though you came back unharmed, I understand this was not the only possibility of the whole endeavor. Look, I am not well-versed in these arcane things you mages deal into, so feel free to clarify anything you imagine I'm not understanding; better to repeat ourselves than to commit a mistake. That being said, so far as you people spoke, I understand that our best deals are your first idea - his head montion implies that he is talking about Lips - or the boy's idea of making a drone feel the pain that's planned for us. If we goes up for the former, I believe Sam should be the guy to manage the opening and closing of the door - since he is easily the quickest of us -, but I would understand and respect his will if he resolves he should not be into it. He's wounds are the most recent and deep of us all, so he also need a rest; that being the case, I volunteer, if no one else wants to wear this mantle."

It's not that easy to tell, but something in his expression implies that the elf is not intentionally flourishing his discourse; the graveness of the situation makes it appear that this is his natural way of talking.

"If the latter is the idea, and we choose to send in a drone, I would also volunteer to send the Micro-Tapper Drone we used before. It's mine, and it's cheap enough to not disbalance our payment that much. But would this spell target a non-living creature? If not, is there a way for us to turn a drone in a possible target, fooling the spell? Pardon my ignorance on these matters..."

He's demeanor is the one of a hard thinker, unconfortable for being not on his element.

Wait. I had this damaged FlySpy. Its flying so it wont sprung any floor trap, but we will see if omething happen to it. It also wont do any damage to our firepower...and since we are cut off, there is little use for it..and we still have one more. And that microtapper is unique and we may still need it later. SO IMO its solved. Open the doors a little and stay out of sight from that room. Ill take controll in AR so I dont get hurt if shit goes down. Too bad we wont get oportunity to ask this mage to turn it off.

Well im really currious which way the first party went. No signs...and Blood traces...well, does they lead somewhere?

Omar takes out the drone, flies it over near the doorway and waits for somebody to open thit or him.

Fractal let the small drone in and closed the door. Omar flewn into the room, but no matter how hard he pounced the closed doors on the other side with a FlySpy, the spell didn't went off.

Fractal observes clearly the fly of the flyspy. After some moments of maneuvers, he abandon the observance and goes back to the planning. Looking at Lips, he asks:

"Well, I guess you're the one most knowleageable on the magical ways to make an educated guess on what is the best course of action from now. Shall we try your first plan, or have you got another idea?"

"So the drone did nothing, should we see if we can get it done the first way, should i open the door for you. Lips?" Sam asked in a calm voice, he knew he had it into him to manage it every day of the week to pull of a stunt like that, but now, with all the injuries and bruises, he was not so sure any more. even the Adrenalin had faded and the only thing that held him together was his sleep regulator filtering out the sleep inducing enzymes.

"Since we might need the drone later to handle that dog, Eliza mentioned, yes. I would say we proceed with the first plan."

Just before Sam opens the door:

"If we really encounter Enrico, I will move into the astral space, Hence, don't panic, if I drop unconscious to the ground, just track my body somewhere save."

The last part was mainly to confort Mouse, while Lips assumed the rest of the team already saw a mage in fast combat.

"I am ready whenever you are!" Sam was standing at the door, ready to open it and close in matter of a second or even less, His move by wire was flexing his muscles already eagerly awating for the impuls to move.
"Here we go" Tightly followed by the opening of the doors just as long as Lips needed it to cast his spell, then on command shutting them close. "Did we do it?"
