Not even before the first wave died out another blast followed.

Quote from: ooc
Agility(4) + Exotic Range Weapon(4) - Wound modifer(2) -> 6d6.hits(5)=3
DV: 3P + nethits, plus possibility of catching on fire.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

The hellhound springs away from the chamber. 100 kg of blazing meat jumping over Fractal as he tried to get to the dying victim of Enrico.
With a great speed it passes the livingroom and bedroom.

Quote from: ooc
The dog is running for his life. Unless Mouse does something, his Dobbey will try to stop him.

Snake, if you don't change anything, make an attack roll, the drone will fire autonomously, you got 1 IP worths of attacks, the dog will have a modifier to defense for running, but that's all, and actually you can wait until point blank before you start shooting. The drone is in good position to fire incoming threats of that kind.

Quote from: First Aid Skill Applying
6 (Logic  + Cerebral Booster 2) + 6 (Medkit Rating 6) - 1 (Defaulting First Aid) - 3 (Stun Modifier) + 4 (Edge) = 12 dice = 3 hits, no glitch
Rerolling 6s = 2 dice = 0 hits
There's quite a chance for the modifiers to drop the hits, but if they are less than -4, there's no problem; he will still heal him that little bit.

Scared to death by the sprinting hellhound Fractal sped to stabilize the gash on the poor Chineese explorer.

Quote from: ooc
The modifer for conditions was -2, and as he has no cyber on him there is no other increased difficulty., so while you didn't brought him back to positive number of damage boxes. he is stable.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

When the hellhound runs away, Lips jumps aside to make room for it. Lips don't really want to have a fight with that beast too in his current condition.

Even with his headache and all the mana anomalies, Lips follows Fractal to the dying explorer to assist him first mundane and then maybe with magical help.

Quote from: Healing
Don't know what should come first, mundane or magical healing. Anyway:
Assist FirstAid: 3 hits --> +3 dice for Fractal
Force 2 Healing Spell: 2(4) hits hits
Drain: Healed DV -2
Drain Resist: 4 hits

Damage feedback 4P/2
Willpower(5)+BFB(5)+Natural Hardening(2) (12d6.hits(5)=4)
Dumpshock:
Willpower(5)+BFB(5)+Natural Hardening(2) (12d6.hits(5)=5) No damage

Omar was quite shocked when the drone was flooded by blazing fire. This critter was cornered and dangerous...more than its master even. Good that it was removed from the fight at the beginning
 Well now...this hurts. Confused a bit...as usual when dumpshocked. Omar creak his teeth with anger. There was only one way to finish this, but the boy seems to be aware of the the siutation. Omar didn`t know if Mouse changed his drones settings for perrimeter protection, so he only raises his SMG higher and waits. Its up to the kid now.

Watching the demise of D1 through his AR window by the big dog the last staticky feed showed the dog starting to bolt. The dog being wounded and now fleeing most likely wouldn't bother with the toasted rat or he may decide to pick up a Mouse to go.
At the same moment, Mac sees the non-friendly target running this way. At current speed and course, will roundezou with friendly in 6.1sec. Pinging master...protect mode engaged...targeting...locked...firing...
Mouse received the notification from Mac about the approaching dog. If he were to cancel firing, now would be the time. Not sure what the beast's intentions are, Mouse let the drone fire.
Mouse noticed that Unca Omar got dumped out of the drone when it was destroyed and ran over to him releasing the gun into his hand from the arm slide. The flash bang in the other hand, crouching protectively by Unca Omar.
The drone open fires with two narrow bursts:
Pilot(3)+SMG Autosoft(3)+Edge(3)=
Pilot(3)+SMG Autosoft(3)+Edge(3)=9d6.hitsopen(5,6)=7, 9d6.hitsopen(5,6)=2 7 and 2 successes

The Hellhound was running fast. Realy fast. It jumped over the entire living room chamber with a single midjump over the table and chair and stormed into the bedroom chamber. As the spark of intuition flared in his red rimmed eyes when he noticed the drone in and a point of the gun aiming in his direction it was too late. Fofinho bleeding from his previous wounds could only jump his over it into the exit of the chamber and the tunnels behind...

Quote from: ooc
The drone was firing at the pointblank range and it's using a smartlinked weapon if I am not mistaken, which would have given the drone additional 4 exploding dices to roll on.
4d6.hitsopen(5,6)=3, 4d6.hitsopen(5,6)=1

Still the defense on the first  burst:
Reaction(5) + Running(2) - WoundModifiers(2) -> 5d6.hits(5)=3, HIT with 7 net hits
DV: 6P + NarrowBurst(2) + NetHits(7) -> 15P, -1AP (that's assuming both drones carry the same weapon, if it is SMG, it 14P, with 0AP)
Damage Resist: Body(4) -> 4d6.hits(5)=0

Hellhound hammered down, cut by the first burst. and slided over the chamber's floor to hit the wall with solid thump. It was dead even before it's body touched the ground.

As rapid fire silenced and no hound is apearing in the room Omar and Mouse were stationed, Omar peeps into the next room:
Seeing the mutilated body with some electrical sparks still appearing on it, smell of burnt fur and meat.
HotDog time, at least. Nicely done, Mouse. You better wait for Fractals opinion, if you want arts expert critique, but in my honest opinion you improved since that ratatouille we cooked before.

With all threats eliminated, a man stabilized and remaining team members of the previous team beyond point of return, the tunnels went silent again and you slowly started to look around. The rescued team memebr is Sun To Wai - a team biologist.

The papers in the living room seems like they are made from some kind of leathery material and contain handwriting in some personal code. There are however some horrible and extremely distasteful illustartions of rituals.

All the books in laboratory are written also in some code, though some of them are printed not handwritten.

From the material side except the chambers furniture, you searched over the body of Enrico. You couldn't faild to notice, that the idea of personal hygiene was long forgotten down here. He is carrying a foci of some kind. There are also binding materials (worth 5000 nuyen) used by Aztec tradition mages (whole and powdered animal bones, herbs, candles). They are no use for Lips, but can be sold on the market. A ritual knife and a lether jacket improved with thermal dampening with matching gloves over set of dirty clothes.

@Omar, Mouse (Text Message): "I believe you or your drones have taken care of the little puppy, am I right? I guess this mess is finally over."

Fractal rises again, looking at the survivor. He is in a pretty bad shape, but he will live. That's good news.

Enrico would not be pleased. That was also good.

Fractal walked along the room, and as the team started to look around and search for any spoils, he concentrated in trying to patch his own wounds as well as Sam's.

Quote from: First Aid Tests
First aid on self:
6 (Logic + Cerebral Booster 2) + 6 (Medkit Rating 6) - 1 (Defaulting First Aid) - 3 (Stun Modifier) = 8 dice = 3 hits, no glitch
1 Stun healed

Quote from: Runner Current Status
Fractal
{Health: 0 / 10P and 8 / 10S damage, 0 Wound penalty, -2 Stun penalty}
{Edge: 4/ 4} {Initiative(Meat/Matrix): 7/18; IP's: 1/3}
{Armor Vest: Ballistic Armor: 6; Impact Armor: 4}

Fractal managed to verify that, although very hurt, his ears were not beyond repair from his natural healing. He cleaned his wounds and started to feel better. He hoped Sam could be revivified.

Quote from: First Aid Tests
First aid on Sam:
6 (Logic + Cerebral Booster 2) + 6 (Medkit Rating 6) - 1 (Defaulting First Aid) - 2 (Stun Modifier) - 2 (Sam Implants) = 7 dice = 3 hits, no glitch
1 Stun healed

It was nothing really fantastic, but Fractal believes he could at least alleviate some of the pain Sam would feel as soon as he woke up (and he was really not envious of this pain).

"Well guys, if you like good news after a dangerous days, that's it. The survivor will live, although he needs medical attention really bad; Sam is alright, even though really hurt; and I will be able to listen to music. It was a hard mission, but we managed. I would like to congratulate you all, not only for doing a great job, but also for cleaning this sewers of this... satanic thingie, whatever it is this guy was doing. Now there's the bodies removal thing to worry ourselves about..."

His tone of voice indicates that he almost returned to his regular self, and he seems to be tired, worned-out, but satisfied. This whole endeavor could have put some wrinkles on the elf's face... but so far, it does not seem to.

And as his message to the team was already said, he put again his earbuds, and subvocally sent a question just to Omar:

@Omar: "Please, tell me that your FlySpy was recording that shot. Sam needs the true power of a taser dart well placed!"

As everything seems to be over and the guy in the circle it out of actual danger, Lips goes around, assisting Fractal with his medical work, also checking the other hostages for wounds (and releasing them from any shackles or handcuffs).

Then Lips go into himself and reaches out for the barrier he had build around that sapient snake, to see if its still intact.

Lips also looks over Enricos work to see if there is anything dangerous (more magical traps) or of value.
Value of those magical books: 3 hits

While Lips is evaluating the books, Fractal come next to him and tells:

"Mister Lips, may I have some words with you? First things first, thanks a lot for all your help today in the caring of the injured guys. But most importantly, thanks a lot about that fighting thing. I don't know squat about magic, but I could feel that that spirit was a powerful beast... I have no idea how powerful your spell must have been to take him out. I'm really impressed."

He looks around, and then continue: "You are already aware that we are a group which work together regularly, and that we are lacking magical support... We also know that you are currently working alone. And I think we made a great team. Well, we still don't know ourselves really well, so we have not coordinated so well as we could, but still, I really believe the results were good. So I need to ask; would you like to work with us again in the future? It seems like our fixers found the juction a nice try, so it's probably up to us to decide if this partnership should be maintained. And my opinion is that it would be great. What do you say?"

"Your are flattering me, I'm glad I was of help down here, even with all this blood magic disturbence down here.

As for now, I don't have any new offer from my contact here in town, so I'm grateful to be at your service for our next ... adventure ..., hmm, maybe not the right word, but it should be satisfiable.

You have my commcode, I assume."
Lips looks at his commlink, or was it the one Mouse gave him? Some of these devices all looks the same to Lips... but printing his name on it doesn't sound very wise.

"If you have a new, suitable job offer, fell free to call.

And something slightly different, do you know a dealer with connections down to Aztlan? These foci and materials are only useable for mages in the atzlanean blood magic tradition. I can ask my local contact, if he finds a buyer but we might get a better price from a smuggler who brings the goods to places with a higher  demand."

The barrier is empty. It will be some time before you'll be able to look at it physically, but as of now you can only tell it's empty.

There are no more magical traps. So you took a closer look. Judging by the ilustrations, this are books on blood magic. But you'd need to break the code to tell for sure. Still they should be worth 20 000 nuyen if sold to a proper person. Oh, and while closely looked upon, the scroll's leathery material looks like a human skin.
