True

but just TRY and get some ammo for the sniper rifle <.<
My favourite weapon from DE1
On the other side, it is posible to go throught whole mission without even being seen..and takedowns are much better rated in Exp...

yeah, but usually, i use the pistol . .
you don't find any other ammo that often.
and if you have upgraded it, it does become a rape-weapon.
laser sight, silencer, ammo piercing, more firepower, bigger ammo capacity, faster reload . .

The 10mm upgraded is the best close weapon, period. Although, if you're going for the pacifist route (no kills ever except bosses), the revolver is a better thing to tuck into your pocket for boss fights (combined with the typhoon augment and an EMP grenade the first three boss fights are 20 seconds and done). I kinda wish you could get a crossbow earlier in the game (was my favorite weapon in DE1 & 2), but the 10mm early, then the heavy rifle for mid-game, then laser rifle for late (the final boss fight can be finished in seconds with the laser rifle since it can fire through the thin glass shield between you and the CEO chick) works very well.

The most unusual but very useful in the right place weapon is the P.E.P.S. (You can get one in the police station armory when you go there for the morgue main run and side quests). The cone effect and knockdown works well, even if heavies take a couple shots. It's insanely useful to just sit on all the ammo you find, though and use it later at the arctic station to deal with the crazies... a bit of channeling them into a bottleneck and one shot can drop a dozen or so.

Considering I was trying to only kill people who definitely deserved it (the mercs, basically) and at the point that I got to Panchaea the only non-lethal weapon I had was a Stun Gun (which I found consistently extremely useful throughout the game) and not nearly enough CyberBoost, even with my maxed out cloaking system upgrade and my maxed out energy bar upgrade, to slip quietly past them, my solution to the crazies was ridiculous but efficient.

Basically, I sprinted at them as fast as I could, and I JUMPED OVER THEM. I jumped over every single one of them with my maxed out cyberlegs sprint speed and jump height. (You get even more air if you hold down the jump button as you're leaping.) I jumped over several of them at a sprint.

It was a ridiculous and amazing solution to the problem. (Although at that moment I did long for the otherwise quite useless P.E.P.S.)

It made me the saddest of all pandas that the sniper rifle (which I found tons of ammo for, but never used because it was unsilencable) can't be silenced; I find the crossbow extremely hard (if rewarding) to use because of compensating for the arc of fire, so I really wanted a lethal, quiet long range weapon that didn't have an arc. (Also, crossbow arrows seem like they SHOULD be retrievable, but for whatever reason they're not?)

I haven't used the crossbow yet (I lugged one around as evidence for a job, but that's been it) because I feel like I'd be cheating on my 10mm spouse, but I remember finding an equipment upgrade that was supposed to be a point-of-aim targeter MacGuffin for crossbows.  Maybe it helps with the arc thing?

I'm thinking maybe my Gamestop preorder bundle stuff isn't available because I'd already started the campaign before I got the download to work, so the fact I'll have a grenade launcher (hypothetically) available for my next play-through has me pondering what sort of Jensen I want to play.  I'm, uhh, I'm frankly leaning towards a straight up Murderface guy, just kicking in doors and laying waste with combat rifles and theoretically launched grenades, maxing out my dermal plating and rampaging around with Typhoons and stuff.  I can't imagine a stronger contrast to my current maxed-out-hacker-with-a-pistol playthrough.

Good to hear about the sprint/jump combo's usefulness against crazies. Was planning to use them in my next playthrough.

AFAIK, the silenced sniper rifle and double-barrel shotgun (along with more cash) came from pre-ordering it anywhere except GameStop. GS customers got the grenade launcher, a different type of explosive, and an extra mission.

And crossbow ammo is reusable if you can find and recover it. Unfortuately (and going against the idea of possible unlimited ammo), the bolts have something like a 70% chance to break when you pull them out of things.

That is annoying. You get so few of them anyway, and I have literally never seen one NOT break when I try to retrieve it.

Also annoying; my (brand new and only) controller doesn't seem to be functioning properly and I can't seem to move forward smoothly without it sort of hitching and jagging, for lack of a better word. I'm still not entirely sure it's the controller and not the game. In any case I'm relieved that I got at least one playthrough in before this situation popped up.

It could be a dirty scanning head on your console (or disk drive on PC).

If it's the game (and not your controller), then it's your disc (and not the game itself).  I've never had any problems moving forward, at any rate.

What I do have is a right thumbstick that doesn't tend to "center" well when it's completely at rest.  When my thumb is on it holding it there, it stays centered well enough.  When I give my thumb a break or go do something else with that thumb, it drifts low and to the right.  So I imagine my Jensen (along with several other characters, from several other games) just kind of zoning out whenever people talk to him, and staring off to one side instead of paying attention.  Also, sometimes he apparently tries to hack without looking at what he's doing (can you do THAT, Bull?), or just kind of dozes off in the middle of stuff whenever he's not really, really, staying active.

Reference: In Detroit Police Departement, 3 level, in one of offices, there is a cop Alex Murphy. His email comunication is amazing...the best is the part where his wife Ellen wants him to come soon for a dinner, in case that Lewis wont drag him for another nightshift. Reminds me someone :)

Did you get in the vents and listen to the conversation between his partner and him? His partner keeps asking if he's heard of this Sci-Fi movie from the 80's where they rebuilt this Detroit cop...
