Apparently later today means the day after tomorrow.   :-[

Here's my character sheet, Jackalope

Background:Jackalope was born at home in rural Texas.  Little know to him or his parents, they were test subjects for a corporate genetic therapy project.  While this negatively affected the lifespan and quality of life of his parents, Jackalope was luckier.  The Intelligence Optimization which encouraged synapase growth took hold, making Jackalope quite intelligent by nearly any standard.

Growing up, Jackalope self-taught himself how to repair firearms and vehicles.  While he's clearly gifted at such tests, he's picked up a lot of bad habits which limits his abilities.  He also had some training hunting out on the field particularly handling firearms and stealth.

Awakening came later than most for Jackalope, likely as a side effect of the genetic tinkering he inherited.  It did not quickly but over a period of several years.  He figured out how to use his intellect to move more gracefully and react faster than his peers.  It wasn't until quite recently he was recognized as awakened by a magician he ran with.  Unfortunately by the time he discovered this, he greatly reduced his magical ability with cyberware and bioware.  Jackalope plans on focusing his efforts more on improving his adept abilities.

Jackalope got his first job at 16 working at a chopshop out in the barrens outside Dallas.  That's where he discovered his true love, hacking.  While his job was to merely clean cars, he also would work on subverting the car's node and sometimes inserting his own code to track their locations after sale.  As he got better, he tried his luck at other public nodes.  Unfortunately, he always had a problem of affording the better quality programs.  Thus, he created his own programs in his spare time, sometimes offering his old programs to various open source projects.

This "sidejob" went well for Jackalope for several years until he decided to hack a vehicle sold from the chopshop.  The vehicle, a Vista, caught Jackalope's eye due to vast amount of modifications ordered.  The purchaser wanted a concealed autocannon turret, heavy armor of all types, and as well walker legs.  Once done, it would be able to face down Citymaster or a light tank and win.  A little while after the sale, Jackalope wanted to find out more about the purchaser.  Hunting down the purchaser's commlink's accessID, he proceeded to try and hack it.

The hack went well though Jackalope could tell the bus's node was way more protected than any node he tried to hack before.  He was doing well until an alarm was tripped and the node loaded black IC.  The IC's blackout program was extremely effective against Jackalope.  Due to the enhanced synapses of Jackalope's brain, simsense signals had amplified effect.  Used to facing the odd attack program, Jackalope quickly collapsed to the assault on his brain.

The next thing Jackalope remembered was waking up in a street doc's clinic.  At his bed was a well dressed ork who introduced himself as Moonshiner and explained he was the owner of the bus.  He tracked down the source of the signal thinking it was one of his many enemies.  Discovering it was a fledgling hacker, he was impressed by the quality of the code on the programs despite the weak hardware it ran on.  Thus he made an offer.  He'll loan Jackalope money to get his start as a true hacker and Jackalope would pay him back with interest.   If Jackalope tried to run out on the debt, well, his agents wouldn't be running blackout this time around.  Needing the cash, Jackalope took the deal.

In the two years since then, Jackalope has paid back most of the debt.  He'll be free in about a year at the current rate.  In the meanwhile, he's become a shadowrunner offering his hacking and infiltration services for hire.

Abilities & TacticsJackalope's primary skill is hacking.  He can effortlessly sleaze most computer systems.  Against the more defended systems, he tends to take a more smash and grab approach.  He doesn't use attack programs, preferring to render his foes impotent with Disarm.  The vast majority of his matrix use is done via AR.  He almost never goes into VR expect for probing.  Even then, he stays with cold VR and switches to AR as soon as possible.

Jackalope is also a decent combatant.  He's a trained shot with automatics and has magically enhanced reflexes.  Able to leverage his intellect to enhance his movements, he also is good at sneaking.  Overreliance on magic, he made his extremely clumsy in areas of background cost.  He tends to avoid those areas when possible.  If he cannot, he often will try to make sure he has drone backup.

He has several vehicles under his command.  The first is an GAZ-179 truck.  Bought from the chopshop, he's modded it to be harder to track.  He's also installed secret compartments meant to hide objects from millimeter radar.  The second is an Fly-Spy modded to be a sensor platform.  The last is a surplus Lone Star LBD-1 that he uses as a backup combatant.

AppearanceJackalope is a scrawny human about 23 years old who has a strong rural look.  He's not especially strong, but he's quick on his feet and tougher than the average man.  His right left is cybered at the knee and below.

He typically wears a Victory Industrious Coverall popular with mechanics.  He's gotten a color-changing and carbon-boron enhanced version for better stealth and protection.  In addition, he's also started to wear form fitting body armor and some discrete Securetech gear.   On his coveralls, he often sticks his "See-er Pad" with gecko tape.  This pad helps his detect and diagnosis various mechanical problems.

On the matrix, his icon is a jackalope, a rabbit with antlers.  He also tends to use it as a general avatar on the matrix.

PersonalityJackalope is in general a cheerful and optimistic man.  He's seen some deep shit in his time as a shadowrunner, but it doesn't seem to get him down.  He tends to be feckless regardless of the danger he's in which could get him over his head.

He also loves telling stories.  He's got one for many occasions and has got one for any piece of gear he has.  The vast majority of his stories feature his friend "Kyle" and vary from quite mundane to outrageously unlikely.  As for as anyone can tell, Kyle isn't real though some stories have the grain of truth in them.  No one is sure if the stories is just a long running joke on Jackolope's part or a sign of some mental illness.

Jackalope is polite enough, but he tends to become flustered easily in social situations.  Thus he usually gets the worst of any deals.

Edit- The character's good to go I believe, though I can make most changes as desired.  I have some questions:
1.) How many slots does the powered slide mount does the Jianshi have?  Sadly the writers of Gun Heaven didn't say.  My suggestion is 3 since that's the number you need to fit on an underbarrel weapon (the most common use of powered slide mounts according to the book).  However I can see any non-zero value working.  If you rather have me not use Gun Heaven that's fine too.

2.) Do I have to worry about the registration option on my programs? Since they're bought program, they have the registration option which makes tracking the user trivially easy (UW 115).  My suggestion is to just pretend they don't exist.  Otherwise, I will likely need to pirate programs and/or self-code programs.

3.) What is your feeling on TacNets (UW 124-127)?  I plan on getting one eventually, but I don't know if you want to mess with them.  TacNets typically result in +4 to a lot of tests (attack/sneaking/perception) by PCs.  I can pretend they don't exist if you desire.

Edit II- Changed some history details.

Alright, here's Abdiel. I realized that, if you are a guy most known for being a preacher and currently trying to hide from your former followers, you really, really should not have your street name be Preacher, so he renamed himself Abdiel. I tried to go down a relatively different avenue of magic than Rusalka when possible so we should be good at different things.

Umaro, wouldn't let me look, just sent a request for permission.

Tsu,

1. Go with 3

2. Your suggestion is good. What registration option?

3. Uncertain - talk more as and when the option to get one comes up/I've had the chance to read the rules on it better.

Sorry about that. I meant to make it public but apparently did not. Should be viewable now.
