I'm sitting out here with my bike with Bear and his boys now. I stopped at a Shack for a 24 pack. I'll probably make another run here in half for more. Here's hoping they get here before then.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Still, Smiley, it will take them a while to get from wherever his unit is stationed (if they're on duty) to where Money is. If there are locals who can keep watch until they get there, no harm in that.

And Murphy, at least tell me you didn't get married by accident. Bringing a naga back to Seattle is going to complicate our travel plans considerably.

Anyways, I had a wonderful time last night. You'd be surprised how quickly arranging to meet a few important people can get other people thinking you're important yourself in this town. I spent last night (and part of the morning) with a lovely woman from the Sioux sector government (can't say who, of course). Trying to find out what I was up to, no doubt, but hey, if they want to try and seduce secrets out of me, I'm more than willing to let them try. In the afternoon I was able to get into the PCC sector, and visited the Data Haven. Paid my respects at the memorial to the admins that died in the Crash, and then talked to a rep from the Nexus. Which of course got a couple people from Mitsuhama knocking on my door tonight, wanting a 'conversation'. The ZDF then came and asked me why two Mitsuhama employees flew off my balcony, but accepted that it was self defense, especially since they were both armed. I made a deal with a spirit nearby to provide a reasonable excuse, so I'm spending the night in her room. I never met a spirit who enjoyed rubber and whips so much.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Money posted at 15:17:22 and I saw it when he posted it. I told everyone that KE should have him at 19:01:49. So, no, there is no "still". Considering he was on post, his usual respond time in the Barrens, that he had the exact location and that I told him about the tank, that's nearly four hours to find and secure him. Since I know for a fact that he doesn't take more than forty-five minutes to get his unit to nearly any point in the barrens, well at least when I call, unless he was moved or killed within an hour of his last post, they should have found him by the time I posted. If not, I know a guy who's about to lose more than his career.]<<<<<

They literally showed up not even 5 seconds after I sent my last post. Got a Doc Wagon truck, a couple of KE vans, buncha cops too. Money should be posting as soon as they either A: Put him in a new tank or B: find and get rid of the jammer on the tank. Not that I would know what it looks like.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Glad Mr. Money is OK.  I, find myself looking forward to working for him.  Like it's proper or something, no offense Mr. Iceblade.  Damnit, I should have been there for those 'Hama guys, I got back as quick as I could.  Not a good start to my career, I guess.  You handled them better than I did, however, sir.  I'd have done more property damage I will fully admit.

No, not married, but I did meet the wives and husbands, or, um, that's how it translated in my head, still didn't "Taste" right, they didn't speak English, Or'Zet, or any of the other languages I know.  Also found out that I'm "Respectable" in some ways.  Heh, never thought I'd hear that coming from anyone soon.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I swear i go away for a while on a little bug hunt and yall start having all kinds of fun. Murphy, I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, when Iceblade is through with you come on down to Pensacola and I'll run you through some special training, I owe your uncle a couple of favors and this should repay one of them nicely. Also, what that generally means in their (the Naga) culture from what I've learned is that your breeding (no matter what the meta type) is good and solid, not illigitimate in other words.

Money, frag it, didn't we all tell you to duck! But seriously, take some time off once you get out of the tank and recoup yourself. Hades, come down here to relax, i have some toys you might like to take a look at.

Faust, good to meet you, i was in the Arcology at several times both before, during and after the lockdown, ran into several of your types then and since, and i hope to all that is holy and unholy that Deus really is dead and gone. On the other hand, having gone back and looked at some records of the times right after the second crash, his base code might have survived. I don't know.

Maybe you should try and find a new lord to pledge yourself to, if you would like i know a few that wont mind the history and have a similar mentality.

>>>>>[Speak of the Devil, and he shall post!  All-Father, what a more incompetent crew of kidnappers I have never met, and I was grabbed five times in three days in some Eastern European country that I rescued myself out of every time, with my expensive hunting gear!  My Afrikaans is far more than rusty, but I could understand the words "Room 21" perfectly fine.  I was in room 12 on the VIP floor.  Their accents were horrible, however, and I think what they wanted me to do was read out a confession on paper that they taped to the tank.  Of course, if they're mistaking my pale hoop as some African Ambassador to Seattle...  No, just looked it up, he is Caucasian.  Just proof one should never assume.

Anyhow, these "Freedom Fighters" (Yeah fraggin' right!) grabbed the wrong tank and was wondering why the hell I couldn't understand them, and couldn't read some badly spelled letter to the people of who-gives-a-frag to release some...  Names coming up now, oh holy son of a slitch!  These guys make Lord Torgo look like a vegetarian elf lover!  They lucked out to land in the one country with no extradition treaty to anywhere that DIDN'T want them dead!  These guys are locked away and they MELTED the keys!  What the hell is an "Eat On Sight" order?

Let this be a lesson folks, when you want something done, don't do it yourself.  Hire professionals!  I could find a dozen teams in almost any part of Africa that might have had leanings to whatever group these folks are with who would have done a far better job!  I mean, I did it on a shoestring budget and no linguisofts in person when, well, never mind what happened.  Couldn't understand half of what they said, but as good a throw-together team as I've ever assembled!  I'm sure I got insulted behind my back more often than I was complimented, but my cred was good and the job was one they didn't mind, so that helps a lot.

Loki's own luck that some signal re-transmitter flew/drove by, I think it was a chipdealer's advertisement/distribution system, but I'm sure he didn't mind me sleazing through his security, otherwise he would have had some of note.  Didn't know how much time/bandwidth I had, so I popped some old SOS code my Grandfather keeps for a rainy day and suggested that I do the same.  Sent it everywhere except to him.  (Hey, you think I leave dead bodies around, invite him to a few drinks and he'll tell you the fun he had in Bug City!).  Anyhow, enjoying the ride in the back of the DocWagon truck, enjoying a Matrix connection that isn't monitored completely by DocWagon, and still in the Hel-Damned tank, but at least hooked up again.  Good thing too, I really had to pee.

So, thanks for the overwatch, the call in that got a big damned heroes rescue, and so on.  Powerline, right Smiley?  OK, you're all guests of Lenny Johnson's (Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th President of the old USA).  Unlimited tab, try not to wreck the bar too much, wish I could join you so we could wreck the bar nicely.  Smiley, I'll pay you back that favor you pulled in with KE, somehow.  Oh great, I'm getting too uppity for the paramed, here comes the sleepy...  Oh yeah, nice stuff.  Is good to have friends in low places.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Murphy, you're doing fine. Just got things to learn. If they were speaking a language you couldn't understand, might be that Khmer Naga tongue they use in Angkor Wat. Don't think they make a linguasoft for it, but you never know. Anyways, you want to have a chat with your ladyfriend about what the implications are of all this before we leave town. A lot of nagas are shamans, and you never want to get a family of shamans angry at you, especially when they know you so... intimately. It wouldn't be hard for them to lay down some ritual magic on you because of that. So be respectful when you are asking questions, hmm? It would limit your job opportunities if they hit you with some kind of permanent shapechange spell to make you a more fitting mate for their daughter.

As for the MCT goons, they clearly had no idea who I was. They only sent two guys, without a mage. Armed with silenced SMGs, no less! I guess they figured that if you stick a gun in someone's face, they'll be likely to do things quietly. Unfortunately for them, I don't answer the door without a blade in hand. Only a little property damage, mostly bullet spray and blood spray. They were black bag types, not combat troops. Rely on surprise and threat of force to keep people in line. Against a 'normal' person, it works well.

Money, glad to hear you're back in the good hands of DocWagon. The kidnappers sound like the typical zealots. Think that fire in their belly will carry them through, even though they aren't trained, and don't know the language. Who knows, they might even have been good enough talent in their own country, but when you travel, you need to get in sync with the locals, or you're dog meat. Not as in sync as Murphy is doing, of course, unless you really want to.

As far as the 'Eat on Sight' order, Money, check to see if that comes from Asamando. That's the kind of order that would most likely come from ghouls.

Heh. This is rich. Just got a request for a meeting tomorrow morning from someone in the Liason Office. Should be interesting.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Thank you Mr. Wolfgar, my Uncle spoke of you fondly, but when I'm done with Mr. Iceblade, I should get home and make sure things are set up there properly.  I'm the head of the family now.  Funny how that works out.

Please try to be careful Mr. Money, I'm not there to help take care of you.  Uncle and Grandpa always said you needed a keeper, even before you went all Norse on us.  I'm sure Great-Grandpa would have said the same.  Of coruse, being in a tank, you can't do much, can you?

I'm good Mr. Iceblade, from my understanding, I'm OK to date.  They're not really looking for someone outside the species.  But, um, apparently I'm a Godfather now.  Or something similar, again, "Taste" is wrong, Protector, maybe?  Still not quite right.  I explained that I lived in Seattle, and they stated it was mostly a teaching role, which I can do from a distance.  14-years old and I'm a damned teacher of morality now or some such.  I'm back and will be ready to be with you for the meeting.  I'm taking a night off from having nights off, if you understand my meaning.  Didn't really expect things to go like this, sir.  I'm sorry, it's very unprofessional.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I think it's still referred to as Tail, Smiley. And Murphy, don't worry, so long as Iceblade isn't complaining. He probably figured into you getting into hijinks of some kind, being new to Denver and all that. Hell, I'd probably end up in someone else's room myself. Now, if it was a REAL Johnson, and not Iceblade, who you know can protect himself with ease, well, I'd be a bit more worried about your ethic. Remember: The excuse of "I'm  sorry, I'm on the clock." is completely valid.

And, to quote a book I once read: Who better to teach of right and wrong then he who is willing to commit wrongs to protect that which he sees as right. Who better to guard a developing mind from the darkness then he who lives in it.

And Money, I'll take up that offer for booze after you have some on my tab at my bar. No offense ment to fans of Powerline, but I'm not really in the mood for anything that involves destroying bars...unless it's about how Madrid slotting cheated during the World Rally.]<<<<<
