>>>>>[ Anyone can kill. You just need the right reason, that's all. If someone needs killing, then he needs killing. That's really all there is to it. I wouldn't be able to do it as a profession. I'm just not wired like that. But if the reason is right, then I can kill, easily and efficiently, remorselessly. That is one of the first things Wolf teaches. ]<<<<<

I guess it's my own little code of ethics or morality...I'm sure one day I'll have a better reason then money to break that, but for now, it serves.]<<<<<

And Smiley, that was a killer show last night! You guys should have seen some of the ladies who were there! Good enough to eat, every last one of them.

Speaking of which, now I'm hungry. I think rabbit's on the menu today...]<<<<<

Killer show... Haha! I'll assume the pun wasn't intended. Well, the afterparty in our loge was pretty wild, so I'll assume I've seen a few of them (and pretty up close I'd say). Glad you had a good time chummer. We also did!]<<<<<

Murphy, I have never understood the enjoyment of strong drink. It hurts afterwards, and you can never remember the enjoyment of what you did while under the influence. And usually, it's also better that way. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Murphy, this is why you don't go drinking things you can't identify. That was probably some crackpot's home brew. You're lucky you didn't go blind, or worse. So, you remember everything, hmm? Didn't meet any more nagas, did you?

And yes, people do drink on purpose. The trick is learning when to stop. I know how much I can drink, and not be impaired, and I know how much it takes me to get completely wasted. I usually stop somewhere between those two benchmarks. I've never gotten to the 'metahuman agreeing with Humanis' stage, though. That must be some strong stuff you were drinking.

Now, if you're done trying to drink your problems away, go find yourself a new place to live. Shouldn't be squatting if you have other options.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ You'd be surprised at how little it really takes to start impairing you. Sometimes you don't even notice it.

Murphy, I daresay you can afford to move out of Redmond. A former student of mine lives in Puyallup. I'm sure he can hook you up with something. And if he doesn't...there's an Ork fixer called Hagar I can direct you too. He will definitely be able to help you out with shelter. You may have to take a 'run for him in exchange, but hey...that's all good, right? ]<<<<<

I mean, I try and lay off while I'm on the job, but when I'm on my time... Well, Seductress likes for me to enjoy myself. Something I couldn't do when I worked for MCT.

Oh, yeah, I used to work security at an MCT facility in Seattle. But the Court said they had to either put me under contract, or let me go, and I decided to go. So here I am in the shadows.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Murphy's fine, housing-wise at least.  Seems someone anonymously dropped an apartment on him.  He gave me the legwork to look into seeing if it's hinky, but doesn't seem to be from all I can look into.  And, let's face it, even in the tank I can still make CommCalls.  He was previously at some Bolthole that his Uncle set up, and must have told him about.  Don't know why he was in the dark, as I taught Uncle Murphy a few tricks from my own storage caches when you can't remember where you put everything (Hitting your shin on a few crates of rifle ammo hurts like hell!), just some glowsticks within easy reach of the door to find the light.

As for what he was drinking, I remember those bottles.  Official Cascade Ork's Finest Moonshine with Certificates of Authenticity!  It was extra for the "Traditional" clay jugs.  Uncle Murphy used it as a degreaser when he found firearms in cosmoline.  I took a sip once.

Once.

Anyhow, aside from having way to ghetto a car for the neighborhood he's now living, he's starting to adjust to living on his own and only having his extended family to rely on.  His direct family he's written off.  I haven't.]<<<<<

>>>>>[How do you ghetto a car? Only car I've ever had is a cab I got with a couple after market addons. Mostly just getting it on that GridGuide thing, and then giving it a way to bypass the limits? I dunno what it does, just that it lets me drive anywhere I'm likely to go without stopping to refuel.

I'll admit, I don't really understand most of this technology. There was nothing like this where I grew up.]<<<<<

>>>>>["Ghetto" is a term meaning old technology or something that looks like it deserves to be in a Ghetto.  In Murphy's car's (A '61 Ford Americar, BTW) case, it's body is mostly rust, the rear passenger door is replaced with one from a Dodge Avenger in blue (The rest of his car is black and rust), and the engine sounds out of tune.

It's all camouflage.  Damn thing is what's called a "Sleeper" car, something that looks like drek, but is really high-end performance.  I drove it around for a bit, and it reminds me of the handling of a Patrol-1, only a bit heavier and with more armor.  It fit in perfectly when he was living in the Barrens, just like every other barely running car on the street.  Now, not so much.

Not exactly giving away secrets here.  Any 'runner worth their ride will have it modified the way they like it, and to hell with everything else.]<<<<<
