>>>>>[Yeah, sorry to be late, Ronin ( I see you back there, hope you did not run into any trouble), but I believe I ran into the spirit Ferret speaks of. If I had not been meeting with some of my associates, I am not certain I would have made it here in one piece. That spirit has a very distinctive  aura. *shudder*]<<<<<

>>>>>[Sending a spirit to kill mundanes is not a new approach. I've known several mages who prefer to do such things. It is difficult for a powerful spirit to be harmed by a mundane, unless they are carrying heavy weapons, or have a melee weapon and the strength of a troll. I am sure Smiley can tell you that, unless the job says otherwise, you don't go trying to assassinate someone by means they can effectively resist. Someone with a toxin filter is not someone you want to poison. Someone renowned for his skill with a blade is not someone you want to cross swords with. Someone who can shoot the wings off a fly at twenty paces is not someone you want to get in a gunfight with. Spirits are a good choice for this kind of job, since both Money and Murphy are mundane. It would be interesting to see if there were any Awakened on this list. If not, it simply proves that this assassin is smart, as well as being a competent summoner. Now if this hitter was a free spirit, that would be more disturbing.

Ferret, could you send me that list? I would like to check a few things on my end.

In other news, the starlet is progressing nicely, and Wolfgar arrived last night. Only had one cavity search by the border patrol, he said. My wards are strong enough to keep out weak spirits, and I will know if anything stronger punches its way through. Xerena is still here as well, so there is a strong collection of Awakened talent here, so we should be safe, if our names are on the list.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Yeah only one and not for me but for Ash my adept driver. Nice girl Ash, hell of a driver though, makes Mario Andretti seem like a piker. Me, I didnt have any trouble, i've had a Tir entry stamp for years.

Morg, dont worry about getting a ride, Tank Girl is supposed to be meeting me in Seattle on Thursday and we'll be passing through Denver on our way back south. I've got the stuff to handle any hostile spirits for the most part and if it happens while your with us, i can probably handle you as well.]<<<<<

May god grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can, and the firepower to make the difference.

Suicide is never the answer, now homicide on the other hand, that has posibilities.

>>>>>[Well, you're lucky you came in legally. The regime may have changed, but the border patrol still gets their kicks catching people running the border, dosing them with laes, and dumping them butt naked on the other side of the border. Of course, if you get caught by some of those loyal to some of the exiled Princes, you're going to wish the border patrol caught you. Don't think that just because they're no longer in power, the Princes' paladins have forgotten their oaths. Rather, they are far more zealous in their duties now that they must help restore their masters to power.

I would recommend that anyone intending to come to the Tir for the first time (whether it is business or pleasure) should try and find a copy of the old Shadowland post on the Tir. There's been some changes since the revolution, but most of the stuff there is still valid. Especially when you're talking about how non-elves are treated. Just because an ork is High Prince, doesn't mean anything has really changed, Horizon or no Horizon.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Agreed. Careful planning and trustworthy contacts are a must when entering the Tir, shall we say, "uninvited". Just because one of your contacts sing the praises of a particular border runner or smuggler does not mean you should take that at face value. Ask around. Check on ShadowSea or other reputable VPNs (like this one). The best do not usually have to advertise their talents. Word of mouth, and all that. Do your own homework, omae. Otherwise you may find yourself naked in the woods with no memory of how you got there.

While the rampant racism is not quite as bad as it was when Prince Surehand was in power, it still exists. In some areas to a greater extent than others. Again, do your homework. Information is power.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Well, I wouldn't say 'rampant racism'. But it is certainly clear in most areas where metahumans do not belong. It isn't like you risk being shot, or worse, as you do if you're an elf or human in the Ork Underground, or a troll in Humanis neighborhoods, or anyone who isn't an Amerind in Sioux territory. There isn't the physical violence and rude language as you'd see in those places. That would be... classless. But that is something that has changed since the High Prince left and the puppet took the throne. People are getting more overt with their actions. And the recent revelations about Horizon's actions in the Tir, and Prince Hestaby being forced to step down after that assault on Mt. Shasta aren't doing anything to help. Expect at least one of the former princes to make a play in the next election, especially if the allegations about Horizon continue. My money is on Prince Laverty, or possibly Prince Oakforest. High Prince Surehand would seem the obvious pick, but that would have to wait until they've managed to turn the tides more forcefully against Zincan. Prince Ni'Fairra is still in the Tir, from what I've heard, but I've also heard she's too busy with recreating Teheronshay to bother with matters outside Mt. Hood National Forest for the moment.]<<<<<
