>>>>>[In that case, due to some... interesting arrangements, I happen to know a couple people in Amazonia. I've just sent you the address of a lovely little resort hotel in Metroplole. I met the owner's daughter while I was in Amazonia last time, and she mentioned her father would just LOVE to hear stories about real, live shadowrunners in faraway sprawls. I'm sending the pertinent info to you. Let Juan Carlos know that it is Senor Mollen who recommended you, and you might get a discount rate, especially if you promise to share any stories you might have. Just don't share too much. Juan is a member of Amazonian intelligence afterall.

Oh, and let your date know that the hotel is a nudist resort. Have fun!]<<<<<

Though speaking of which, I do have a meeting with an acquaintance of mine at the University of Washington, a professor of thaumaturgy. As I understand it, he'd like me to assist with one of today's magical studies class.]<<<<<

That, or 1k worth of mid-level magical assistance, or consulting. Reply if interested, the prank has to be funny and humbling for the target, no other conditions specified.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Some of you may be hearing reports of loose spirits rampaging on the University campus. In fact, the media is grossly exaggerating. We have the situation under control - we being the present faculty and I. A number of students got their egos involved in the spirit summoning class and reached far beyond their figurative grasp.

What happened wasn't pretty to the students in question though. May Ahura Mazda forgive them their arrogance when they come to his judgement.

Also NiSayer, I think there is some confusion with your client. Robin was in a different class.]<<<<<

P.S. Damn, just noticed something. Check that latino elf who fled the adjacent lab 3:12 into the accident, just after the first faculty member went down from drain (I hope he's okay, that looked very risky). She might have been possessed, or at least ridden by a wild spirit. Worth the checkup
P.P.S. I hate being right. Look at the footage I've sent you.]<<<<<

Suicide is never the answer, now homicide on the other hand, that has posibilities.

Also, seems like whoever did your hardware works skimmed a little off the top, or the dealer you got your stuff from sold you crap. I've sent you a few hints on how to fix that, and people who can do that... But I wouldn't trust anyone with it. DYI, just to be sure.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Except for those of us who maintain legitimate lifestyles as covers. For that, having a legitimate address or twelve is a good thing. Of course, your bolt holes and safehouses should be under different names, if they're owned at all, and you're not just renting. However, there are disadvantages to any lifestyle choice. Best bet is to find a set of residences that meets your running style, and whatever 'public' persona you wear. An ork can hide out in the Underground without trouble, for instance, especially if they look like they recently 'graduated' from Redmond. Put that same ork in certain parts of Bellevue, and you're asking for a world of hurt. In the meantime, an elf can disappear into the Elven district quite effectively.]<<<<<

On another note, thanks for the suggestion on a vacation spot, Iceblade. We're quite enjoying it down here.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ What, is it Short Attention Span Theater time again?  Never live in what you own.
Rent under your own name, or under your main ID's name, or whatever.  Gentrify yourself if you're an ork; you'd be surprised at how well an ork, or even a troll, in a well-tailored suit fits in, especially if he goes out of his way to introduce himself to people, 'yes, I'm leasing the Porter's place just up the road at 733', do all the subtle 'I fit in' things that Johnsons do when they want you to think they work for Corporation X - the corporate ring, the corporate logo watch, the brand of suit favored by that corporate culture.  It's simple face-time stuff that make people go, 'Mr. Black at 733 is all right, for a troll'.  You actively hail the local rent-a-cops, introduce yourself, wave when they go by, let them know that you're a good citizen.
But you still don't live in what you own.  When - not if, but when - someone who doesn't like you comes gunning for you, you can try to recoup your (legal) losses from your renter's insurance, instead of having to call it a total loss because you own the damn thing.
Hell.  Right now, if you put together everything I own for investment purposes, I could have at least a secure, complete corporate campus of a whole bunch of acres in size - but I don't live in any of the places.  Your exposure, in financial, identity, and practical terms, is just too high.  Christ, Rakhi, you know how many nobles down in Cara'sir rent a flat because their four hundred is out in the middle of the Three Sisters somewhere.  Never live in what you own.
Conversely, you should never rent the place you're setting up as a kill-house if you can help it. Put down the chunk needed to start the purchase, make your monthlies, and mod to your content.  Just when you blow the ID, make sure you blow the site - or else you're going to have kids' lives and limbs on your conscience.  Y'know - if you still come equipped with one of those ... ]<<<<<

>>>>>[I can see your point, but that can be handled by just doing short-term rentals of apartments or even hotel rooms during a job and for a short time afterward (amount of time depends on how high profile the job was). Though, I will admit, renting has other advantages. Don't really have to worry about maintenance and such yourself if you get a good apartment building/complex.

All in all, I think this is more of a "to each their own" situation. There are arguments for and against, and all are very subjective.]<<<<<
