>>>>>[Oh, I'm definitely not expressing a desire for them to figure out my legal identity.  I paid a lot to keep that hidden.  If they discover that C.E. is making the hits, fantastic.  Its if they tie C.E. to my actual SIN (which is possible, I am a Shaman) that I imagine that I'll run into trouble.
I'm not complaining about the cameras, it is a fact of life.  Anyone with a connectivity rating of 1-4 on Persona 2.0 has cameras following them while they piss.  I'm fortunate that my SIN isn't tied to Horizon, if it were I'd be on P2.0 naturally.  We make do in the world we live in.
How do you recommend staying in the shadows, though?  Horizon, from what I understand, doesn't care who we hit (so long as it isn't them).  Attack their camera drones, and you've crossed the line.  Even the gangers who have no issues shooting a little old lady crossing the street try to avoid accidentally hitting the drones.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Speaking of change, HMHVV is changing. Don't know how or why (though as a hermetic I have my theories) but most of the Ghouls I know have had a severe increase in how much sunlight hurts them and how hungry they get. I know to some of you this can only be good news but please stop to think for a minute that it is unlikely this is the only change we'll see. If the downsides to being an infected in the day increase, who is to say the vampire you run into wont be twice as strong at night now.
Pain and Hunger causes Ferals, and those mindless ghouls are everyone's problem. It hasn't effected me yet but I feel it is only a matter of time...
Those of you who are familiar with me know I don't scare easy. The thought of going Feral does.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ If you're willingly on P2.0, you deserve everything you get.  If you haven't obliterated (instead of just 'well-concealed') your legal identity, you deserve every damn thing you get.  If you're running scared in your boots because you think bearding the lion in its den by eliminating your ident traces - whether that's putting AV rounds through a drone or ten, dazzling them with lasers, having a decker hack their feed and/or set up an eraser virus for your comm ident in the feeder systems (yes, children, it can be done), you need to be spanked and sent back to the little runner's school.
Finally, Horizon's 'Get Hits!' bravura advert is just that - bravura.  (That's bullcrap for you illiterates.) They don't have five drones following everyone; YHVH, Allah, and Buddha combined couldn't afford that. They pull idents for hosers who are a) in their stupid fraggin' P2.0 network, and b) broadcasting their damn ident in the clear, and use any camera they have access to - granted, that's a lot of them when it comes to the City of Angels - and yadda yadda.
Don't make this amateur night.  Do your homework.  And keep in the shadows. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[C.E. I cant disagree with Wyrm about sticking to the shadows but if your really wanting to fly on the P2.0 network and broadcast for all the world to watch your exploits talk to Eddie in Horizon's R&D facility there off of lake view and tell him Wolfgar sent you. He'll hook you up with a cover and start to set things up for your eventual "demise". You will stick around the cover identity will die when it suits the suits.

Chrona, I don't know about the sunlight, but i'm going to keep an eye on those around and help them as much as I can. You know I got your back if you need it.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I ran in LA once upon a time. You know the story, big job, the kind that even if you play everything perfect, you still need to skip town for a while until things die down. The cameras were indeed everywhere. My situation was a bit different from yours, CE, though. I did have a P2.0 account, though I ran it under my real identity. Legit SIN and being foreign nobility, and all that. Turned the cameras off when I went on a run, though, and always hid my identity. Elf wearing one of those Yucatan rebel Death Masks made for an easy enough disguise, and I always changed my clothes, etc. It helped that I was already used to living a double (or triple) life, and that I kept away from runs where the cameras were on, or I was in a position where I was doing some of my 'side work'. But unless you've got all that going for you, do as Wyrmy says, and keep off P2.0. I turned mine off the moment I left LA to come back to Seattle. Didn't delete it, though, because I might need it next time I go to LA. And I have a different commlink and commcode to access it, which is currently turned off in a shielded safe, so I'm not worried about someone hacking the account and force-activating the feed or anything.

About the Infected, yeah, I'd heard some of the same rumors, Chrona. So long as they don't take an interest in making me their lunch, I don't have a problem with any of the sane Infected. The feral ones are dangerous, though. Best thing for them is to end it quick. If more and more of them are starting to go that route, then things could get really nasty, really fast. One of the spirits I met in Denver had a ghoul friend, and they were really close. Heard the other day that her friend turned feral, and tried to attack her. Spirits of Fire don't like to be attacked, and she reacted without thinking. She's a wreck, so she's staying at the mansion while Denver settles down.

Chrona, keep safe, and do what you gotta do. It isn't much, but if you feel yourself going too far down the feral path, know that there are people who will end it for you while you're still yourself.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Thanks Iceblade, Wolfgar, it means a lot. After the Food Riots in Asamando I had to kill a lot of Ferals over here in the Barrens on principle. I think I've mentioned my place has a small cell block for them... well after how Asamando used them I never want to be tempted to, so I put them all down. My research into improving Infected Sanity is still important to me but I need to find out what is making it worse first.]<<<<<

If It were to cost the infected anymore Essence to have this inside us then Awakened Ghouls will be hit the hardest, Vampires can replenish their Magical Abiliies when they feed but for a Hermetic Ghoul like me it could mean Burnout.]<<<<<

>>>>>[For those of you with friends on the wild side, I hear that there's job opportunities for sapient paracritter bodyguards in areas with high Infected populations. Well, except for Sasquatches. I'm not sure on how it works, but it turns out that except for the fuzzy guys, we're immune to that HMHVV thing, and a lot of us can see the astral naturally, which means that unless the ghoul is an initiate with masking, we'll see them coming. And how many ferals do you know that are functioning initiates? Anyways, centaurs and nagas are the big winners, here, since half of you metahumans are scared of us anyways, but I know a pixie adept in Atlanta is making a name for herself. Real artist with her monowhip, from what I hear.]<<<<<

>>>>>[My legit SIN isn't foreign nobility, and it sure as hell isn't Horizon bound, but it is the kind that might draw P2.0 attention.  Its not really the kind that I can walk away from, and the only guy I know who has the tech and know-how to hook me up with the fakes probably would sell me out if I tried.  Yeah, I've got a leash, but its a long one.
I'll lay my cards on the table here, TWO, I got the crash course in Running not too long ago.  My education is in Engineering, which will make things great when drones and Jackrabbit breakdown.  Ok, so my drone and Jackrabbit.  I took what money I had and I'm trying to make do.  My "uncle" helped me get the set-up that I've got, and lined up my first gig.  It sounds like Carat is lining up my second right now.
This is amateur's night for me, every night is.  I know how to shoot, I know how to drive and rig.  Hell, Dragonslayer and my Uncle insist that I keep expanding the magical knack I inherited from my father.  I came here to learn how to make things work where I am.  I'm nowhere near an experienced runner.
None of my team is very experienced.  We've had one dance together, and it went well.  I had a lot of support, and didn't have to plan most of it myself.  Whatever this job is, I hope that I do well.  We have ways of staying out of Horizon's eyes, right now.  But I'm damn certain that eventually I'm not going to have that luxury.
You want me to do my homework?  Give me an idea on where to start.  I'm throwing darts in the dark here.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Alright CE, definately contact Eddie, first of all he's somewhat from the same background without the magic. What he will probably do is send you to see me and have me send you and your team through my training cycle, which means you'll get taught not just how to run the shadows well, but about fighting bugs as well. As anyone on the boards here will tell you, bugs are bad buisiness and want nothing more than to frag us all over.

That said, otherwise the usual thing is for a team to learn and grow together. They and you learn from being around each other and from doing jobs, you learn what the others like and dont like, what they're capable of and what they're not. And they are going to learn the same about you.]<<<<<
