>>>>>[Well, since the elf looks twenty years older, I guess it makes a great bit of misdirection.  I mean this dude was old, like in his thirties.  Either way, since I don't have you to thank, I guess I'll keep wondering.

And Chrona, I think that might have been you who passed them.  They were the ones that were sticking out like sore thumbs, then shot the dumbass that tried to jack their ride.  Like I said, they just plain didn't fit.  I told them the Spikes like to use combat bikes, or they could try the Ancients.  It was suitably vague enough that they didn't decide to fork any nuyen over, and they'd heard it often enough, I guess they decided that looking in the Verge was a loss.]<<<<<

>>>>>[The bright lights from the small wood.  I feel them watching me, much like a man decided to light a stick of dynamite against the darkness.  They leave the wood, and hunt, bringing death with them.  But when they bring death, they light more lights in the city.  Their light is small, but intense.  Not a beacon of hope, but a declaration that hope will come from the shadows, bright and terrible, dark and beautiful.  The pretty young one sows chaos, and brings forth order, convincing one dark stain to assault the property of another, and when the darker stain leaves, things become brighter in this dark place.  I do not understand, and fear to speak with those lights, because to do so may mean death for one or the other of us.  A shame, really.  A fairy tale is not always a thing of bright beauty, and I suspect that should my tale and theirs meet, it will be a tale of blood and death.  But I have to wonder whose it will be.]<<<<<

Looked like one of those trees the trids say grow in the jungle. I was able to speed away obviously (Thankfully some tree spirits are almost as slow as the real thing) but why the hell was it in a back alley of Seattle?]<<<<<

>>>>>[I have a couple connections with the Ancients, since I stay in their turf some of the time. Between them and the Laesa, any new magical players in Puyallup and the border areas should be on their radar. You said it was a plant spirit, right? That makes it more likely to be a druid, or perhaps an Amazonian shaman who conjured it. I'm not too familiar with the traditions that use plant spirits, myself, but I know those are two of the largest ones.

I was about to head out to get some grub, anyways, so I'll go and see if I can't track down my contacts. Chrona's place is nice, but understandably he doesn't exactly have much in the way of food I can eat. Though I did use this research opportunity to develop a contact in the 162s. Not sure whether that will ever come in handy, but you never know. Since ghouls are dual-natured, he didn't miss the spirit I was channeling as I cut a bike (and its rider) in half with my sword when one of his buddies decided I looked like easy prey. We came to an agreement. They don't try to eat me, and I don't collect bounties on presenting their hides to the Knights. I don't go hunting ghoul bounties on principle, unless they're ferals. They manage their condition, and don't try and eat me or mine, I have no problem with them. But when someone attacks me or mine, then yes, I will cash in on that bounty, just like I'll sell the body of a ganger who tried to shoot me to ghouls, even though I would never send a live person to them. It may be an arbitrary distinction, but we all do what we can to sleep at night.

Anyways, I'll whistle up a couple ladies I know in the Ancients, and see if I can't get some answers for you, Card. If there's a new player in town, the Ancients will want to know about it.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Um, yeah, Belisama.  Though if you've got anything to do with the New Druidic Movement, you're either on a list, or you're an unknown over here.  Seems a few people over here have some pretty specific words about blood in Stonehenge.

Iceblade, Card:  Be careful.  From what I'm hearing over here, if that's a druid, it's not one of theirs.  The only Awakened guy they have who lives close to that area's an adept and his team, which are all mundanes who seem to specialize in critter work.  One of whom has a recipe for barbequed basilisk and fried incubus.  It looks like the clan is mostly elsewhere, while the grove is hitting the books to try and ID what Card ran into, and how to take it down, if needed.

Meanwhile, I'm getting rumors in the Verge that something hit the guys who were asking about that bike about five feet from the edge of the area.  Now, I'm off to do "odd jobs" for Uath.  Some of these are pretty damned odd, too.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Card, I've been running down leads most of the day with a couple Ancients. Sting was good enough to come along for part of the trip, now that she doesn't have the pressures of leadership any more, and can be a regular member. She seems a lot happier now.

At any rate, the spellslinger who came with me was basically a specialized astral tracker. Makes good nuyen tracking down people and things for interested parties. Apparently, we got someone's attention, because three spirits materialized to attack us earlier. Unfortunately for the summoner, I'm something of a specialist in slashing my enemies to pieces. The spirits weren't too high force, anyways, so I made short work of them. But that clouded the 'scent', and it took the tracker a while to pick it up again. More as it develops.]<<<<<
