>>>>>[ Knowledge of the Greek-specific term 'ouroboros' is generally regulated to the literati, someone who's had a classical (or at least wide-spanning) education.  Right now I'm solo, but there have been six, worldwide - three deckers, a street sam, a mage, and a relatively newly-awoken dragon a few years back who thought to use the name.  Deckers who want to stay unique have a kind of a 'high noon' challenge - you both meet, then go hack something.  Who ever gets there, or gets through first, keeps the name.  The sam (Midwest UCAS) and the mage (Greece) both got waxed, roughly two years after taking the name - no, not my fault.  And the dragon ... well, I had some 'high level' help convincing him that it wasn't a good idea to get us confused.  Lessers tend to listen to greaters when they start talking all 'high affrontedness'.  I think the line I liked best would be 'I would see it as a sign of growing maturity if you chose to be known by another name.'
Talking about 'local equivalents', though, Jormungandr and the Midgard Serpent are a lot more famous, so you find bunches of them - or at least you did, up until the second Crash.  Not so much since then.  'Hoop snake', on the other hand, there's a bunch in the NAN and 'round Tibet's borders ... ]<<<<<

Longshot, where'd you run into this Lamashtu?] <<<<<

No, I don't know what the deal was - I just know she power-bolted a friend of mine, while we were passing on our way into Snohomish. I ID'd her by description afterwards - only run across her that one time.] <<<<<

>>>>[Yeah, there's only three reasons I know that folks wear sec armor - either their in a war zone, their corp-sec, or their going in loud.  The first and last will get you killed for two different reasons and the second, well I've never been in that situation.  But this does tell me that it wasn't the Lamashu I knew.  She would've been a bit more discrete ,than sec armor and a greatcoat, if she was doing bodyguard duty.  And if the one I knew was going in loud, well, I would think she would've gone and got her milspec armor she was issued by her merc unit's quartermaster instead.  Man, I miss having those quartermasters around to issue stuff for free.  It's been so many years since I had that luxury.]<<<<

I really do miss Money, and I saw Smiley and Autumn the other day. At least I'm smart enough not to say hi or wave. Didn't even nod...after hanging out and partying with those two, I know when they are busy. And they were BUSY.

On the other hand, I just got back from Phoenix, and found a couple of fraggers who wanted to say hi and join in. I invited them, if you all didn't mind.]<<<<<
