>>>>>[Hmm. That would explain the nanotech researchers at the facility, then. I don't know why they'd want to take something like that and test it on bugs, though. Scratch that, I don't WANT to know.
And Ruthless, I try to avoid hives altogether if I can, but sometimes that's where the work is. I'm lucky enough that I have a decent rep with the spirit community, so sometimes I get work from them. One thing I will say about having a spirit as a Mr. Johnson is that they won't lie to you. They might tell you half a truth, a misleading truth, and what you might consider 'essential intel' might not be something they even consider worth mentioning, or they'll leave out certain details on purpose, but they won't lie to you, so long as you got a good rep. They'll just give you a straight "no answer" or change the subject instead of telling an out and out lie. I think it has to do with how the Astral works. Emotions and such carry a lot of weight in the astral. You can 'see' lies if you know what to look for, and their value system is different from ours.
And payment when dealing with spirits can be interesting, too. One time I got paid in some gold coins that I had tested, and turned out to be from Ancient Rome. Another time, I was paid in lore from the deep metaplanes. And sometimes it is just regular nuyen.]<<<<<
