>>>>>[It's a lot of little jobs, but requires finesse and manhours if not so much skill. Political 'runs are fairly safe and sometimes even legal, but doesn't always pay the best, but there's a credstick at the end of the 'run instead of a bullet more often than not, and always with me (My rep will hold that out.). Prop 23, the creation of a new official part of Seattle with the Ork Underground, is turning into much more of a hot ticket item than anyone expected. Brackhaven is schmoozing left, right, and center to try and not appear racist but not say one way or another which direction he'll go on it. The rest of the parties are screaming and yelling about it, and there's 'runs galore about viral/guerrilla advertising IRL, ARO, and Matrix, with defense and defacement of opponents Matrix sites being big jobs for the Matrix Inclined. For the more physically inclined, there's bodyguard, riot duty, riot provocation, on-demand extraction (This is a job that just might pay to sit around and do nothing!), and one really impressive "Insertion" 'Run that I can't talk about more except that I had to import a team from the Pacific Islands, and you'll know it when you see it. Magical jobs are plentiful as well, but rarely combat, which limits the pool of your typical Shadowrunners (Is it just me, or does the majority of Spellslingers out there seem to only know how to throw fireballs?). Astral security with Watchers or low-powered spirits, ritual detection of kidnapped or disappeared everything, and, I drek you not, "special effects" for speeches are jobs being lined up.
But because the pay isn't that great, so Fixers and Johnsons are dealing with locals with little experience, or folks new in town with no local rep. The first are a pain as they're jazzed up on 'Trid Shadowrun shows and want to go in guns blazing, and the second are wondering where the hell the sun went. And that's on top of biz as usual! Yeah, for the next couple of months, there's going to be jobs galore, just might not be up your alley, is all.]<<<<<
