i think the real issue is there clear way to have good and evil characters that most mmo's survive by, i.e. alliance vs horde, empire vs chaos or whatever it is for warhammer, etc. etc. you get my drift, lol.
This is Shadowrun. Where the "Good Guys" shoot people. In the face. For money.
The evil people would be who exactly?
that's my point, there's no definite split of good vs evil, so the pvp would be nil, and pvp is what seems to make a game fly. if it were only to be one-sided such as doing missions, it would kinda limit the mmo world.
i really put a lot of thought into it cuz i thought it would be feasible as well, but then i got thinking about it and what it would take... and that's where it gets pretty damn complicated. i think instead of a mmo, it could work just as well as say... an xbox live multiplayer game, cuz there's really no reason to have it as an mmo, it would be just like playing a game without the
vs style archtypes. and i definitely think a xbox live rpg would be a great idea btw, lol.
don't get me wrong, i'm not completely against it, i just think it would be very, very difficult to set up the universe and specify archtypes and other characteristics.
