I am pretty new to the 4e ruleset, and i am hoping to get some opinions/insight on this build before i take it out for a spin...

Already have the hacker/magician/face etc.... Need a primary combat character so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Main thing for me is not having used the system, just reading it over and over...so something might be good on paper, but suck wind in action.

== Description ==
Grimm Lee is a nothing special at first glance, japanese dwarf. With no brutally obvious Cyber-Limbs, he is often under-estimated when he wades into close combat with his yakuza-trained martial arts skills, and is a crack shot with any type of gun, and will toss a grenade if needs be. He is a point-man, with the flexibility to take on support and sniper roles. He plays the role of a bodygaurd/data courier type, but he is also a street samurai in a bullet proof suit, with a full form fitting suit and PPP pieces underneath. He is the silent type, and only mildly buys into the yakuza philosophy, since he was never fully accpeted due to his low birth he had to work hard to survive until his potential became apparent, also he was raised to hate the cops, go figure. He is not here to talk, unless he is interogating the only survivor or he is delivering data to a client or talking to a team mate. He is not a joyless man, but he is focused on whatever duties he is set with. He learned to keep his mouth shut if he wanted to keep all his fingers, but now, he is in prison, with his former bosses dead or imprisoned as well. He trained with the Kali-style, focusing on fighting with 2 knives and his strange "iajutsu" technique

== Background ==
Atarasi Katao was born to SINless immigrants in Seattle. He grew up poor and fighting for everything. His parents tried, and di what they could, but with hardly any money, and being SINless in Seattle, Atarasi fell into a Yakuza cell known as the Yellow Lotus. They specialized in drugs and simsense. He worked as a mule and data courier, working his way up to a small time enforcer, and eventually, a bodygaurd for the boss. He also has fought in illegal fighting pits for his masters. After a few years, the cell was involved in a blood fued with another, larger more influential cell, and was set up by law enforcement. Atarasi is currently in prison on drugs and weapons charges.

At first glance, the biggest issue I see is your relatively low Reaction score and Armour.

With a Body of 6 you can get up to 12 points without using Form-Fitting stuff, which is halved. Technically, you should be able to get 15 points. And you're going to need it... some non-combat focused characters have a Reaction of 4. I'd remove the points from Dodge and Escape Artist, place 1-2 into Armorer so you can repair/clean/mod your own stuff.

Socially, you'll want either Etiquette or Intimidation. You're the tough guy, you should know how to scare someone. Or at least, if you're going the smooth samurai way, talk without embarassing yourself.

Perception and Infiltration should be at 3-4 for nearly every character. Also, the low Intuition coupled with the low Reaction means you'll have an Initiative of 6. Not good. Reduce your Strength, swap out Muscle Replacement 2 for Muscle Augmentation and Muscle Toner Bioware.

Just a quick glance, you're encumbrance is only at 10/10, where you could bear 12/12, if you have the Y might as well get some tricked out earbuds, no? And did you mean to put Thermo vision on one of your glasses, even though you have it as a natural ability?

You've got bone lacing and dermal plating.

To squeeze some more out of your worn armor, you could do an Urban Explorer Jumpsuit (instead of the Actioneer), and with the FFFBA and partial PPP to give you 6/6+3/1+1/3 = 10/10 Encumbrance and then slap on a heavy helm of your choice (2/2) for when the lead really flies. That will max out your Encumbrance and armor capability.

So you are saying i can get more armor than 15 by maxing out my 12/12 Encumbrance? or that those two augments dont stack?

You don't really need 7 different ways to kill people. That's costing a lot of points for more-mediocre dice pools than you could get. Automatics 6 gives you semi-concealable pistols plus full-auto weapons that can double for sniping. Unarmed with Martial Arts and Blades is a good combo. Clubs, Pistols, and especially Longarms seem very superfluous and you could use some of those points for better Heavy Weapons, Gymnastics for dodging. 

The Stealth group isn't a bad investment for you. Shadowing is good, Palming is great for a machine pistol you take to a meeting. 

Don't bother with Armorer...a pool of 4 is crap, just take a good contact that can do that. If you want to be good at Intimidation, stack some mods like the SURGE Nasty Vibe, emotion software and the gun mods that give Intimidation bonuses when you're pointing your gun at someone. 
Playability > verisimilitude.

FFA stacks with other armor and has reduced encumbrance.

PPP isn't discrete and separate armor per se, it's more of a plugin to an existing piece of armor.
Playability > verisimilitude.

Something like that. Here's how it breaks down. Every character get's their BODx2 in max encumbrance. Your BOD is 6 so the max encumbrance you can bear (in either Ballistic OR Impact) before you start taking penalties to your AGI is 12. So, ideally, you want to both your B & I armor to hit that 12 encumbrance.

Generally, an armor's B/I rating is equal to the B/I encumbrance it lays on you. Form-fitting armor however only counts one half of it's ratings towards your encumbrance. So 6/2:B/I FFFBA only counts towards 3/1 of your encumbrance. So, yes, you can have a higher armor rating than your encumbrance.

I think i figured it out , so what is my out of the gate 400 bp best armor number? 17/17?? Cause if so i think i got it :)
Yes, with your 6 BOD, bone lacing and dermal plating, 17/17 is your best armor.

As a post script, I think it was a good choice to narrow down your killing skills too. And I'm still not very good with melee builds, but you may consider raising your gymnastics skill for your full defense pool...

Check with your GM on this, since they may rule otherwise but, by my reading of the RAW, if you mod FFBA with Gel-Packs it should still stay at 3/1 Encumbrance since it rounds down.

Also, slap Shock Frills on your armor. You've already got Unarmed Combat and Nonconductivity, so you might as well take advantage of the extra weapon / defense.

Yep id drop blades specially since your augs buff your unarmed. and you then have nothig to conceal. So you can walk hands up. "I'm unamed!" Murder everything in sight

I took your advice about dropping blades, and going for unarmed combat w/ hard style martial arts and then automatics for ranged, and i think i was going for flavor with the blades, but i really like the sound of a kick boxing dwarf!!!

We ended up having the GM cap us at 16 for starting dice pools, so I switched him around a bit to compensate.  Also made him a Russian and a Vory underground prize fighter.  We just had our first session, stuck in prison.  But, I have to say i am quite happy.  1-2 punch and the big dumb troll on cell block D is LIGHTS OUT!!!!!!   :o

== Description ==
Short and Wide, Looks ripped for a dwarf. No obvious cybers except data jack, and dermal sheath when un-armored. Greasy black hair, and green eyes. Talks with rough russian accent sometimes when stressed. Likes to gamble a bit, but never on his own fights. And despite being a Vory fighter, he never took a dive. Moves very fluidly and tends to be focused on the work at hand, but his time in the pits taught him that you answer an insult with a broken bone, and has lost a bit of his civility. He is glad to have survived those days, and he likes to think he is more mature, but still cant't take an insult sitting down, most of the time. Still, he is a brilliant kickboxer, often suprising people who would under estimate him. Knees, elbows, fists, and feet, arranged in small combos, usually targeting the body and legs of his opponents. He has scared off more than one wannabe troll ganger with a one two to the groin. He tends to be a bit quiet, and will open uo with humor. Unknown to him, he does have a sense of humor, and has calmed down just a tiny tiny bit since he got thrown into prison.

Augments recieved under fake sin private security firm front for the Vory. Vory modified him to have edge in fights, since arranging the fights was frowned upon. Once his boss went down, the Vory lost control of the fights to the Yakuza, and they would not allow the Vory to attend. Bitter and hates the Yakuza.
