If Patches' flattery doesn't work, I'm not entirely sure where to go from here.  The only real negotiation options I can think of for trying to get us more money would probably end the conversation if I roll badly (and judging my luck so far, this is very likely).  While in a RL game with my friends, I would probably risk it anyway, this seems like it would be somewhat rude here and probably screw up the rest of the game  Also, can you even roll twice for the same activity?

@irisheathen : No frill, those little mistakes are what bring good role playing. Don't be afraid to post something because you're inexperience, it actually brings more reality to the game, in my eyes.

@user-unknown: sometimes we win sometimes we lose. I'm sure accepting the job and avoiding getting paid less is the best course of action. Maybe we'll be able to bargain for more after if the job is well done.

What do I roll to find info on the matrix? Specifiaclly about old style optical disks, St. Georges business partners, and where the thief might be trying to sell the disk/data.

Also it is very unlikely a contact of loyalty 1 could just be called up and asked for a favor. Loyalty 1is a purely business relationship, they don't owe crap and tolerate you only because you bring them good money or information.

If he doesn't respond that's fine. Or if he responds and says he has info that I'll have to pay for that's also fine. Or if he wants for Patches to "owe him one" that's fine too. But I had kinda pictured their relationship as people who drank in the same bar on a regular basis and talked occasionally. Maybe he likes me plenty as Patches but if told who I really was would arrest me, hence loyalty 1. To pidgin hole all loyalty 1 contacts as " a purely business relationship" is kinda killing them as RP fodder. I was just gonna throw it out there and let the GM decide.
