So I was thinking of a new character idea if my acker will bite the dust.
The idea is a catburglar insperd from Mirrors Edge´s Fatih and Dark Angels´s Max.

Since im kinda new to this game Im not how viable this type of character is.

Open the book to the Sample Characters section and look at the Covert Ops Specialist. Change things to fit.

Now a Hamburglar would be much more difficult to pull off.
Greataxe - Apply directly to source of problem, repeat as needed.

As Mirikon suggested... that's pretty much "Standard Issue" as far as characters go. Your big question is multiple choice:

What do you want to be::
A) Cybernetically Augmented
B) An Adept
C) A Mystic-Adept
D) A & B
E) A & C

Generally, for pure hyper-ninja-acrobat mastery, you'll want option D.

There are certain things (i.e. Muscle Toner, Muscle Augmentation, Suprathyroid Gland, and Synaptic Booster) which are much more "point efficient" when purchased as Cyberware compared to buying the equivalent Adept Power.

As for race, your choice is between Elf (Slightly better Agility) or Ork (Much better Body and Strength, with slightly worse Logic). Orks will get you the most bang for your buck when it comes to your secondary skills... Running, Climbing, Fighting, etc... while the Elf is a bit better in a few key areas... i.e. Infiltration, Gymnastics, and Hardware (for bypassing electronic locks).

Stylistically, you'll probably want to go with the Elf, since I REALLY can't see Faith as an Ork.

One thing to keep in mind is that you're gonna have to be able to deal with electronic security, not just the low-tech stuff.  So you'll want stealth and athletics skills, but also enough electronics to crack a maglock or bypass a security system (and, as with most any character, one or two combat skills so you can at least hold your own).

Thanks :)

Im not that keen of going adept. dosent cyber/bio implants lower the effective magic atribute if the essence start to drop?

And yea Elf is a given..no way in hell Faith or Max (Jessica Alba) is gonna be an orc.

and Il have  a look at that premade char =)

There's this funny bit of mathematics  where it uses up less total Magic to burn off your Essence/Magic by getting certain Implants (i.e. those I listed) than it does to buy the equivalent Adept Powers.

The end result is that taking those pieces of 'ware actually not only frees up more Power Points, but the reduced Magic rating makes it cheaper to buy your Magic up once you get into play and Initiate.

There's shades of Max (Jessica Alba) in character Monica from the short story Extraction from the SR4 20th Anniversary book and she's an Ork, but play it as you see fit

on dumpshock we had the ultimate mundane climber.
a troll with 35 to 45 dice in climbing, depending on how hard you max.
climbs faster upwards than most people run forwards.
and even if all of those dice should come up 1, he still would not fall down.
he would simply not advance any further that time.

"It depends".

(I give that answer way, way too much these days.)

A super-sneaky infiltration character with an eye for going in high, where the security's weaker, is perfectly valid. Heck, the core skillset that it requires should be SOP (Standard operating proceedure) for just about every Shadowrunner. Everybody should have some athletics and stealthy skills, and most should have some hardware, Just In Case. The downside is that if you're all about super-sneaky break-ins ... what about the rest of the team? Do they come inside with you, clodding around with giant boots, or do you go in solo? And if you *do* go in solo, what's everyone else supposed to be doing?

Team play and all that.

Here's some initial advice:

-Odd numbers for Body, Will, and Strength because they round up for calculating damage boxes and melee damage.
-To maximize bang for your buck with Karma later on, get one skill at 6, the rest you want at either 1 or 4 depending on how much you want it, and no specialties with BP.
-Catlike is not near as good and is actually more expensive than as a Reflex Recorder for the Stealth Group.
-Athletics Group is not as good as  Gymnastics 4, the rest at 1 (or just defaulting) and Synthcardium 3.
-If you get Gymnastics, drop Dodge
-You have no Perception. That is really bad.
-Stealth Group at 4 is a good idea.
-To be a cat burglar, i.e. a B&E expert, you want Hardware 4, EW 1, and maybe a Log-linked booster like PuSHeD or Neocortical nanites.
-Con, a bit more CHA, and Tailored Pheromones are actually pretty good for a B&E expert, especially if you're in disguise and need to talk your way through something. You're an elf, make use of that free CHA!
-Lockpocker rating 6 is a nice and cheap option to ever buying Lockpicking. Seriously, Lockpicking is completely obviated by one piece of cheap gear for better or worse.
-There's other good gear to beat maglocks of all types.
-You need a commlink, I'd say not too crappy, to find lock nodes or nodes for other countermeasures to disable them
-Planning to be a combat character at all? Get Wired Reflexes 1 at least.
-You don't need so much Data Search, just get a good program to pair with it.
-Consider Unarmed + stun gloves as a melee option. Really useful in breaking in as well...no deaths. Probably get gel rounds and SnS for your pistol.
-Pistols...okay. You probably want a couple...light to conceal best, heavy for when it hits the fan, plus a taser.
-Chameleon suit + FFBA + PPP for armor. You'll need to pick PPP pieces because I think with Body 3 you'll quickly run into armor encumbrance.
-You'll want a set of contacts, glasses, and earbuds with all the trimmings if you don't want cybereyes/ears. You don't have a very Essence-intense build (you're not a street samurai after all) so implants may not be a bad idea, that way you never have to deal with not having your gear.

Wakshaani raises a good point on what might go down during a run.  Remember you're part of a team. You obviously contribute a lot to certain jobs but what do you bring to the table in a more direct scenario? You have good enough skills where you could stealthily outflank enemies.

look here for starters:
http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=18729&hl=\ultimate+mundane\

if 35 dice for climbing is enough, you can free up 100 to 150 build points easy if i remember correctly.
Quote
Total dice on a climbing test:
13 strength + 7 climbing + 2 (specalization; gecko hands is always considered assisted) + 1 (balance aug) + 2 (balance tail) + 2 (grip feet) + 4 (magnetic limbs (all of them) + 2 (ret. climbing claws) + 1 (smart articulation) + 3 (synthacardium) + 1 (reflex recorder) + 3 (gecko feet; balance) + 1 (Neo-EPO) = 42 dice for climbing. Assuming 1/3 hit, he'll average about 14 meters a combat turn. Or 280 meters a minute.

Main idea to work with a group is to be backed up by a Hacker and be a physical recon person i.e. the person who takes point and helps the others with info. Also get those pesky physical not connected to matrix locks to open.

No she will be totally useless in a weapon heavy group with players who really like to run and gun.

Thanks for the pointers. Il post version 1.1 soon  :)

also why on earth would I want a super min maxed 35dp character? sure I can expand in other areas butseriusly...35 dices nets 11 hits on avrage..where is the challange in that?

You don't need to go all out.
All out is 42 Dice, not 35.
By lowering the Dice to 35 you free up about 150 bp for other stuff.
And you have some dice left with that design anyway, because it was a purely climbing build so only points in body and str and everything else left at 1.
So you could do some more with the other attributes.
And there were dozends of points left for skills too.

That one is by no means a one trick pony if propperly statted up.
All Cyber etc goes towards one single goal, but the side effect is that it's also a good close combat fighter or archer or heavy weapons gunner.
And with the built in grapple gun arm, you can also play hoist/lift for the other characters too. or simply have them stand on you while you climb up i guess.
That one is not a playable character, only an excercise in what you can accomplish inside the rules for the single purpost of climbing and everything else completely ignored.
