Nah, keep it coming. I'd like to not have to recreate this guy three more times, so lay it on me.
Well, let me rephrase, I think it looks pretty good other than skills. I might personally do a couple very small things different with Attributes (drop LOG to 4, bump AGI to 5, drop INT to 4 bump REA to 5), but that's largely because my table is pretty combat heavy and pools of 15+ are where a PCs primary skill(s) are at - which informs all of my advice really, so if your table is different, only heed accordingly.

I guess 1 item might be, your Initiative Passes, I think a decent number of Hacking actions are simple or complex actions, so if you're sticking to AR, you could benefit quite a bit from 3 IPs... may want to get some experienced hacker input on that however.

This character is for an online game. Likely for play by post here on the site, but it's still undecided, since I want a really active game. I don't need to make him a combat specialist, because the style of these play-by-post games tends to focus more on the roleplay and a little less on combat than most tabletop games, though I will alter the character to have better pools in his most important skills and to use just the pistols as far as firearms go.

I'm also currently working on getting his primary attributes to a good place this afternoon, through use of ware. Is there any ware that gives an Intuition attribute bonus?

Edit: Crunch, are you talking about wired DNI? Because I have no interest in having to plug into everything. I need to figure out a way to get DNI without external wiring and without using wireless, because it can be too easily detected. I don't have a firm grasp on this stuff and would appreciate your advice.

I'm saying that as far as I can tell, there is no reason to skinlink your cyberwear as it is already connected directly to your nervous system.

So I could just put skinlink on my comm and it could connect to those devices without a wireless signal? Essentially cyberware is already skinlinked? So I wouldn't even have to skinlink the datajack? Nada?

Exactly.

So you mentioned a Lined Coat 6/4, but that takes up all of my body. If I try to wear anything with it aside from a little Securitech then I will be hindered by armor. Also, the lined coat doesn't cover the whole body, so there's no real point in giving it Chameleon coating. Thought or recommendations on armor and clothing please.

I've always assumed that PPP could be worn beneath FFFBA, with it being likened to sports equipment in the description, I guess I pictured it being about as bulky as like the protective wear on the hips, thighs and knees of football players - which wear form-fitting pants. I've never made an issue of it though or had it challenged, and of course others will interpret it other ways. I guess you don't quite have the BOD to combine FFFBA with the Zoe Second Skin, but that is a cheap way to get Reuthenium.

Well an alternative is this:

FFBA 4/1
Securitech 0/3
Zoe Second Skin 4/1

8/5 total and not all that expensive. Plus it removes any question of what can be worn beneath what, I believe. I'mm just add a hood to the character's personalized Zoe Second Skin. That work? No quite as good, but perhaps a little cheaper, I don't know. Mainly I want to wear it underneath suits and other clothing without being able to tell.

Other options would be to go the expensive, less protective route or to up my body at the cost of something else. Unless there's an item that reduces armor encumberance.

YNT Softweave reduces the highest encumbrance from one armour item, by an amount equal to your strength. (Availability: +1, Cost: 10% of the item value)

It's from War!, though ... which may nix it on principle for some.

I'll check it out. Don't get why so many people are down on War. There is plenty of OP gear without it. I see that sort of gear as giving some characters their colorful specialties, and limiting the books people can use is pretty darn silly.

Edit: Good call. I decided to spend about 21,000 on my armor, because I'm so particular. It's fine though, because I'm going to spend way less on weapons.

FFBA
-Thermal Dapening
-Ruthenium
Lined Coat
-Softweave
-Ruthenium

12/6

I think softweave is pretty fair in this case, since I still have a low impact rating and am spending some serious BP on armor.

Especially since with very few exceptions (Battle Buddy Basic and SoftWeave mainly) there isn't that much in it available in character creation--even with Restricted Gear quality--anyway.

Having been a football player, football pants are cut specifically to accommodate the pads. I always assumed that FFBA was under any other armor worn, but I don't have a really strong reason for that.

As for other options, what about a Jump Suit like the Urban explorer or the Camouflage Suit?

With the SecureTech PPP stuff, you need to remember that the description specifically says that there are 'discreet' versions and sports-gear versions.

"Discrete version to be worn under other clothing", unless I'm mistaken. Whether that fits under an individually tailored, form-fitting body suit ... that's up to your GM.

I'd imagine it'd go between the form-fit and anything else, yeah, but I had to point it out since it seems people forget about the discreet version and assume it's all football pads and such.
