"I'll go to the theatre," Sammy said, "I can explain my presence there much easier.  Maybe you guys can drive with Matt and we'll take the jeep.  Liam, is there a spot were we can park it discreetly?"

Heron nodded. "I'll stay at the theater too, then. If I'm going to be astral, having the body someplace out of the way will make things easier. Getting lost on your way back is no fun at all, let me tell you."

The team quickly departs the diner with entourage, Liam and Rudy, who is also leaving with you after a word with Alice, seems to expect to ride with Sammy, which ends up putting Icarus with Jonny and Sam in the Comet.  A quick ride later and you are at the theater, Liam is able get the Jeep in through a loading door, but it will take some moving around for the Comet to be brought in as well.

Matthew says he will park in a nearby lot, better to access in a hurry anyway, after dropping the runners and his sister at the theater.

After reading O'Connor's note and being a little surprised the man could write, she looks at him and gives him a little a shoulder shrug, a "I dunno" look across her face. As the group gets out of the dinner, Clementine gets the Jeep in gear and follows the instructions to get to the theatre.

Once the vehicle is parked, she gets out and looks around her, mindful of her surroundings.

Perception 3 + Intuition 4 + Perceptive 2 + Actively Looking 3 (12d6.hits(5)=4) 4 hits, no glitches

When the whole group gets to the theatre, she looks at Sam and asks him "So, this is them?" nudging her head towards the group of people that had brought them to where they were.

After seeing the group make for the vehicle, O'Connor took the note back, crumpled it up and placed it in his pocket. It took all of his willpower not to shoot Red the moment the ginger elf came out of the diner, I have a gun, why aren't I using it? O'Connor stayed silent the entire ride over to the theater. He didn't like this situation at all, this Liam guy showed up out of the blue and was being far too helpful to a stranger, even if it she was some big shot celebrity. Now they were, willingly, stuck on his turf, This guy's trying to play us, he has to be. I have a gun, why aren't I using it? He kept glancing about, convinced that the sheriff from earlier, or worse, was waiting to get the jump on them.

"This should do nicely...  Wouldn't mind finding somewhere to rest up for a bit."  He took Sam off to the side for a second.  "We should probably get our facts straight, mate.  What'd you tell the sheriff about what we're here for?"

The Yakima Playhouse is labor of love.  The building is very old, with balcony seating at the edge of the stage, and looking like a grand theater house from days gone by.  It's glory days are behind it though, paint has cracked and peeled, several seats can be seen from the stage that are in real need of repair and almost all have patches in threadbare spots.  The stage is the typical dark cavernous space you would expect it to be, with catwalks and ropes and curtains and whatnot.

On stage, mostly finished set pieces of garden scenes and trellises are surrounded by crafting materials, ready for stage hands to work when they return.  There are a few well appointed dressing rooms back stage, with additional space for those who are not headliners.  Of recent manufacture is a suspended loft space in the wing opposite the dressing rooms that is apparently where the couple lives.

Sam shrugged. "Told him we were looking to film a reality show about a group of people stranded in the ass-end of nowhere with no gear, trying to find a way back to the city, but that most of the crew didn't know that was the actual goal--that most of you guys, including Sammy, think we're actually doing prep work for an adventure 'trid of some sort. Figured that would give us something to fall back on if anyone failed to play their part."

His eyes narrowing slightly, he continued, "Which brings us to what the hell you four managed to do to get the fuzz all riled up. Dammit, I probably could've had the sheriff signing up to play a dancing bear in the 'trid if he hadn't gotten called back to the office suddenly. Granted, I expect O'Connor and the Ork to blow any role more complicated than 'go beat that thing up'--hell, they didn't seem to have done even that much against that barghest!--but I thought you'd be able to keep them in check. What'd you do, get drunk and let them mug a banker?"

Stepping into the theater, Heron looks around for a second. Sammy would be staying at the theater with him, so he needed to give her a way to call him back without doing something like punching him in the ribs. A watcher should do. There wasn't any point in making more extreme preparations. Being distracted by the situation wasn't helping his concentration, but the watcher came, and that was all that mattered. A winged eyeball appeared at his shoulder. Looking at it he said, "I'm going to be on the astral for a while, so I want you to stay next to this woman," he pointed to Sammy, "and come get me if she calls for me. Understood?"

Clementine sees Fionn and Sam talking to one another and approaches them casually. She goes to Fionn and calmly says to him "You ever listen in on my conversations again and we're going to have a big problem, got it Red?" She then turns to Sam and asks him "So, what's the plan? How are we getting out of here?"

"So what're you saying, mate?  Assuming I'm an alcoholic just 'cause of where I come from?  For fuck's sake, amadan"  He was mostly just joking, but let it sit in the air before continuing.

"Their job was to create a distraction, and they did a not-terrible job of faking a lover's spat - made a right lot of noise.  It worked alright until some guy decided to see if there was some sort of trouble, and it started to devolve from there.  I got them out of there before it could all fall apart, way I outlined it back at the diner - blamed the whole thing on an executive producer, mentioned something about the covers the four of us had settled on for them without using any red flag words.  Mentioned a shooting schedule, and that I couldn't afford to let it slip."

When Clem walked up, he stopped for a second to respond.  "I don't know what you think, but I wasn't listening in on you."

After assuring himself that the expected ambush wasn't happening yet, O'Connor joined Clem in confronting Red, "I have a gun, and I really want to use it. Remember that, Red." O'Connor shifted his stance so that he was standing with his back to  the locals, blocking their view of his next actions. He shoved the barrel of the rifle under Red's chin, "I didn't blow your brains out when you pulled your little stunt...this time. Gimme even the smallest reason to put you in my sights again, I won't hesitate for an instant." With that, O'Connor lowered the rifle and walked off.

As Clem and O'Connor stepped in to confront the elf, Sam edged backwards, trying to stay out of the immediate danger zone without looking like he was retreating. After O'Connor (and, more importantly, the gun) left, Sam looked at the ork. "The plan," he said, ice in his voice, "is that I go with Matthew to meet his contact and try to get us all back to the city. And if you want that plan to work, that means that you, Mr. Trigger-happy, and the drunk elf over here behave yourselves."

Shaking his head (and making sure that O'Connor was out of earshot), he continued, "Who's bone-headed idea was it to get O'Connor to try to act out an argument? He's got no fuse at all; there's no way he could be expected to hold back from turning it into an actual fight, even if all of the audience had remained off stage. Why didn't you tell him to go to the hunting gear section and start critiquing all of the stuff on offer? He's been making so much love to that rifle that I'm sure he could have handled that. Yeah, he might have gotten into a fight with the clerk, but so what? He gets arrested, drawing even more attention,"--and we get to decide whether to spring him or just cut him loose; extra bonus! Sam added to himself--"you guys would have plenty of time to get whatever you wanted. No problems anywhere."

He sighed. "Fionn, can you sober up enough to listen in on the cop's links, see what they're looking at? I need to know how screwed our con is before we go further."

"Maybe I wasn't clear enough - I'm cold sober, tuilli; just coping with some Fading.  As for the suggestion, it was Icarus's - he wanted something to get all eyes away from where he wanted to go, the others figured they could make it work; they managed it at first."

"What are you going to look for," Sammy asked to Heron, while she looked at his watcher spirit.  Her watchers always looked vaguely human, but to each their own she would guess.
