"Dealt with dope and booze too much to see what it does to people. I don't deal with that" answers Clementine. "I guess the only vices I indulge in would be booze and flesh." She then turns over to look at O'Connor with a serious look on her face. "But don't take that as an invitation." She then turns over and, with a light chuckle, asks Fionn "Red, what's the most "dangerous" thing you've done on the Matrix?"

[RHat]

"Depends on how you define it, I guess.  Put myself in the hospital for a couple months by bargaining with a sprite far more powerful than I was - damn near killed me, that did.  Had my fair share of run-ins with IC, too, but nothing's ever hit me quite so hard as that.  Was worth it, though.  So how'd you manage to get ahold of your augmentations in the first place, Clem?"

[HydroRaven]

"It's all been done through the organization" answered Clementine. "Con, had any work done on you?"

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor shook his head, "Nah, I'm all natural, well natural as an adept can get. Red, what's the toughest system you've hacked into?"

[RHat]

Fionn scratched his head for a second.  "Gods, now I have to think about how post-Crash and pre-Crash systems compare...  On the pre-Crash side, I had to break into some evidence systems to keep my sister out of trouble - destroy the information before it has a chance to be backed up; those things were locked up tight as hell.  Post-Crash, I haven't gone black hat until recently, but I have had to crack into the system of a 'hidden floor' research lab.  Security, as you might imagine, was aggressive; nobody was supposed to know the place even existed, after all.  When I was doing white hat work back home, I got things locked up pretty seriously but given there wasn't any really dangerous IC at play I wouldn't consider it as tough - like fighting guys who only have gel rounds, to put it in terms of your work.  So these guys you're so pissed off at, Con...  They got anything to do with you getting locked up?"

[Necrogigas]

A dark look fell across O'Connor's face, "Everything, and don't underestimate guys using gel rounds. It usually don't lead to nice things when the people shooting at you want you alive. Clem, who was your childhood hero?"

[RHat]

"Figured as much.  And that's my point, really - not going to kill you, but it could knock your ass out and get you captured, which isn't near as much of a concern when you've been legally hired to test the security.  And trust me, people like me have more than most to be worried about when it comes to being taken alive.  Anyways, it's your answer Clem."

[HydroRaven]

"Never believed in heroes" answers Clementine. "Always though it was strange to idolize the product of someone else's imagination. And god knows what passes as news has been imagined by some corporate slug. I did, however, respect and admire my former oyabun if that's what you were looking for."

"Red, when did you first start whispering to machines?"

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor gave Clem a bemused look, "God damn, and I thought I had a shitty and joyless childhood. Least I still had a small bit of childhood wonder to have a few idols."

[RHat]

"I was what was called 'otaku' before the Crash - still needed a datajack, but that was all I needed.  I started to hear the flow of the Matrix as soon as the new wireless stuff was put in, which was, in a word, a godsend.  And I don't think a normal childhood is a very common thing in the shadows, O'Connor - though I expect mine was a good deal better than either of yours, from what I'm hearing."  Fionn had been checking the Matrix whenever Clem had used a term he wasn't familiar with, so he'd cobbled together enough detail to ask a more directed question.  "So what was it you did in the Yakuza, anyways?"

"I started as a safehouse keeper. I moved to security, protecting working girls from overzealous Johns, mostly. Worked my way up to enforcer, which was as far as my heritage would allow me to go."

"Con, what was the worst thing about the slammer?"

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor paused for a moment before speaking, "Unless you end up a prison bitch, which I didn't, there ain't really one single thing that you can call the worst part. It's all the little bits added up, like the boredom, the overcrowding, the shit food, the guards on power trips, the psycho prison gangs, and the rest of the shit, that makes life on the inside hell. Red, what was the first felony you committed?"

[RHat]

Fionn actually grinned a little, since this was an easy one and kind of a fun memory.  "I believe the technical term is 'gaining unauthorized access to a Matrix system'...  Must have been about 9 at the time, decided I didn't much like being told where I could and couldn't go exploring.  So what sort of stuff did you get up to before you got sent to prison, O'Connor?"

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor smirked, "Nine, damn, beat me by a few years. Before trying to join a gang and then going to prison I was living on the streets in the Barrens, at that point I was just trying to survive to see the next day. I mainly stole from other homeless people, even had to kill a few after getting caught. Clem, how old where you went you made your first kill?"

"Otaku always started young, man."  Fionn chuckled a bit.
