I'm posting this here in the gear section, since I'm not totally certain where it belongs. I'm working on creating a Cyborg character, and I could use some help. Does anyone have a sample Cyborg that they have made, or perhaps a summary of the rules involved in making one. I've been reading what I can find about them, but the information does not appear extensive enought to fully create a character with certainty of legality withing the rules.

The second thing was my idea for more drone pets. Guidelines where given in Arsenal (I think in the text for Evo Falcon or something like that. I don't have my books here) for creating drones that look like animals. I'd like to create a drone horse for a character of mine. Could someone assist me in this task? I'm a little lost, as far as how to write such a thing up. A drone dog would be a pretty cool watchdog too. Lots of possibilities for a more extensive list of drone pets.

The third thing is Vehicle creation. I've been toying around with vehicle modifications, but I've basically found that it isn't enough in many cases, because you are so limited by the existing vehicles Are there any rules or guidelines for creating new vehicles?

Several of us have been begging for vehicle creation for SR4A for a while to no avail  :'(

What about drone creation? With the particular drones I am talking about, it seems like they defined things about 50% and stopped. They  established how to create small useless pet drones, but no sizable creatures, like medium/large dogs, or horses, or the like. I was really hoping for a drone creation system.

Yeah I'm hopeful that SR5 will include more well-defined rules for cyborg creation as well. So much is currently dependent on the GM's whims, while other aspects are completely without guidelines of any kind. If the setting's year will be moved forward, then certainly the cutting edge technology involved in making cyborgs should be more defined.

The vehicle creation is frustrating, since there are such great potentials to create amazing new things, and to blend the technologies into true wonders. The modification rules are such a good start. We just need a system that isn't solely reliant on the particular GM for all of these things.

They don't have rules for making up your own stuff - that's something you'd need to talk to your GM about.  They may or may not add it in SR5 - though if they do, I expect it wouldn't be until the new version of Arsenal comes out.  It's not exactly the easiest kind of system to put together and balance, and certainly enough into the territory of "advanced gear rules" to go into the gear book.

Well, I could design a vehicle creation without that much trouble. It would be a separate point build system, similar to advanced lifestyles in some ways, but somewhat more complicated. Hire me, Catalyst. I actually have some amateur experience in RPG design and am a pretty damn good writer.  ;D I realize books of vehicles are good sellers, but I don't think that the ability to create your own would take away from that much, plus you could put the system in one of those books and increase its sales.

All I'm saying is that I want a Tachikoma.

That would be hella sweet to have more personal mobilty drones, like Tachikomas.

Personally I have been working on designing airships and mecha. Eureka 7 and Front Mission style. I am trying to use zeppelin tech for the airship, but there have been some difficulties involving frightfully low speed. With the mecha I am having trouble building something that isn't enormous, but can mount some weaponry. I have both designs at about 80%.

Airships? Would have to be zeppelins, unless you magically powered them somehow (and if Earthdawn is any guide, doing something like that would require some plentiful blood magic). As far as mechas go, though, I'm not really a fan. That's a HUGE leap forward. But some kind of powered combat armor? That'd be cool.

Oh, I could whip the system up inside of an hour - and I expect their designers could too.  The issue is more integrating the system without causing new problems and balancing it properly, and there's no way to do that fast or easy - it's a very difficult thing that ideally involves a crapton of testing.

Same here, but I would like to have either the Highwind from FF7 or the Ragnarok from FF8 for a rigger too.

There's already a zeppelin that you could live on. I think it's in unfriendly skies. I feel like it's not that far out for a setting like Shadowrun.

Yeah you could probably mod the heck out of powered armors or an Iron Will. Just so you know... people have already built completely functional mecha IRL. I could show you if you like. The problem is that there is really no need or practical use for them currently.

A really stupid idea, but you may be able to revers engineer a system by looking at what's already out their, the prices, and the options that come standard on them. Honestly though, if that works its pure chance that it does, i doubt they had a formula for these things.
