And I gotta say, it really annoys me that Martial Arts takes up Positive Quality budget.  Really want to get Firefight added in here, and I just can't make it fit...

Martial Arts is the only reason I'm at the Positive Quality limit...then again I don't take a lot of PQs that often.

Ambidextrous, Aptitude, Mystic Adept, and Magicians Way, and I'm there.  I could, in theory, drop Aptitude, but that leaves me with a smaller pool when I need to split it - especially since Improved Ability applies to the rating and is thus pre-split...  Need to find some modifiers.

Christ up a tree, I've got enough extra people for a whole other team already. I had no idea there were that many people lurking around the PbP forum.

Anyway, biggest note: max optimization is definitely not required. ~15 dice is a reasonable pool for a primary skill, I think; I'd rather have you be good at one thing and pretty good at a few other things than be mind-bendingly awesome at one thing only. (This is my fault as well, because I should know better than to trust Chummer's dice pool estimates by now. Check the auxiliary gear, Wolf.) So just keep that in mind, I guess.

On licenses: I'm inclined to go the simpler route and combine them into 'Guns', 'Ware', etc, with the caveat that if you get new R gear after we start you'll need a new license for it as well.

I'll not be around for much of today because of reasons, so, ionno, don't light the thread on fire while I'm gone. Hoping to start this weekend, if that works for everyone?

I may have an issue getting my character up and fully ready by this weekend.  Why?  I'm traveling for business and I've got limited access to books.  I'll be working on the guy tonight in the hotel, but I fly home tomorrow afternoon.  When I get home, my wife gets first crack at me, followed by my cats.  Means no internet for me until Saturday.

I am going to go hacker/rigger/pilot, though.  Just gonna take me a bit longer than normal due to travel and potential lack of internet/book access for a day or so.

How about just because the GM has repeatedly stated that 15 dice the optimization level he's looking for?

I offered to rebuild first btw Big Guns, GM told me my character was at an appropriate power level.

I was the first player in the thread to pitch a concept, and posted my sheet before you did. If its not the case that you deliberately jumped in and poached I apologize, but that's sure what it looks like.

Friendly Neighbors, and Rough Neighborhood don't seem to vibe to well in my opinion.

This is v3.5 of Ravanna (v2 and 3.0 weren't postworthy).

I feel like I'm missing something because I didn't run into nearly as big as a karma deficit as I did on v2 and 3 (normally I spent a while cutting my skills back down to balance it out).

I'm not sporting 20 dice or anything on my attacks, so compared to some of your stuff I feel a little underwhelming, but let me know what you think. And thanks Mr. Troll for holding her cloths, armor, and gear, but I tried to keep it light.

Once I get a thumbs up from wolf, I'll click on create character and do my rolls for starting cash.

== Description ==
Eagle Form: Shape of a Harpy Eagle, white with black markings.

Human form: She has lightly tanned skin, dark brown eyes. Her black hair is short and choppy, swept back with white tips. She is average height, and has a thin. athletic build.

In human form, she wears her foci and fetishes in bracelet form on her wrists, in eagle form, she drapes the bracelets around her neck. They are just large enough to not break or choke her if she transforms from eagle to human form without taking them off first.



== Background ==
Ravanna was captured near the Grand Canyon by dwarven poachers when she was young. An eagle shaman named Samuel Stogen found her caged, sensed her true nature, and purchased her from the poachers. He then brought her to Seattle where her innate magical talents evolved with his training and tutalage. When she was competant enough with magic, she began helping Samuel with his job at Knight Errant, unoficially.

Six years later, Ravanna witnessed a dwarf mage kill Samuel on top of a building. Enraged, she swooped down, clawing his face and forcing him off of the ledge of the building, the resulting 30 floor fall killed him.

Knight Errant, understanding that she may become unstable after losing her mentor, allowed her to leave the company on good terms. She still keeps in contact with Samuel's former partner, Captain Rikers.

On the topic of dice pools:

A preliminary calculation of my character's skillset(s) will give him an average dice pool IN HIS CHOSEN FIELDS of somewhere in the 14-17 dice pool range.  He has skills that are going to be much less than that, but in his chosen field he will be a little optimized (specific cyber/bio related to his field, skill ratings, attribute ratings, gear, etc.).  And this will not include bonuses I'll get when I'm jumped into a vehicle.

However, if the GM wants dice pools less than this, I have no problem altering the character to get under this.  I don't want to, but I will.

Also, if someone has a dice pool > 20...great.  They are fantastic at their chosen field.  Just remember that they won't be as good at other things, so don't worry if someone has more dice in a skill and seems optimized.  Everything evens itself out when you are on the business end of a large caliber weapon.

Friendly Neighbors, and Rough Neighborhood don't seem to vibe to well in my opinion.

I'm not sporting 20 dice or anything on my attacks, so compared to some of your stuff I feel a little underwhelming, but let me know what you think. And thanks Mr. Troll for holding her cloths, armor, and gear, but I tried to keep it light.

With his home, I can see it. It can be a "bad neighborhood" but really close-knit as a community helping each other out and such, but outsiders to the neighborhood better beware.

Since I was the one saying I should be able to carry the stuff, I ain't a troll. I only have a 7 Strength because of Improved Physical Attribute.

Three of us have built characters in that about 15 dice pool range and All4BigGuns and Rhat have made characters in the 20+ dice pool range. I don't mean to carp on power level, but especially considering that All4BigGuns came in after me and tried to poach my role with a more optimized character it is a concern.

To be clear, I have to worry about split dice pools - which is the only reason I've pushed the pool that high.  Also, Guns has, legitimately, had that character sitting around for while.

And neighbours who are friendly to you aren't necessarily at all nice to outsiders.
