SPOILER WARNING: this game is played using the official Missions 02 - 03 Grab scenario. If you wish to ever play it do not read any further.

I am opening up another thread my friends,

on list are
JDA, Chrona, Kot, Boer and Codac.

I'm still awaiting for updated cards.

Chrona, Kot if you call any sprites/spirits make the rolls please.

If you socialize with any of your contacts it'll take time to make it worthwhile. You should socialize with all that are loyalty 3 or higher. Loyalty 3 take half of your day, loyalty 4 and up will take one.

It would help if all of you could post here the runner current status and dice pools in the Kot's format.

Just tried to simulate that with real dice. Attempt 1 - 5 hits, no exploded vs. spirits 2 hits. Attempt 2 - 9 hits, 3 exploded, vs. spirit's 1 and a glitch... =='

wouldn't it be wiser to try something that's within the reach? if you're small time summoner havign a force 1 or force 2 spirit is better than having none. Also please include next time the summoning rolls and drain. in the last case if you had 3 stun damages before binding try this could have rendered you unconsious, and all sort of funny things could start with uncontrolled spirit. (not to mention damage modifiers)

also I haven't found anything about what happens with binding materials after unsuccesful tries, until there is a reference pointing otherwise you use them up during ritual.

when buying - remember about magical goods cost multiplier for Pueblo - 1.3 - 1.5 - for basic things (R10 and less) use 1.3 for R11 and higher use 1.5.

by my count this 2 attempts (not including Mata fee to fetch them) costed you 5200 ny

I noted how much healing the damage would need. And Stryker can deal with it before attempting another Binding easily. As for the costs - Mata managed to get me these materials(so it's his cost multiplier), and they are not used up. Just like a magical lodge - they just are necessary to Bind, and the spirit cannot be higher in Power than the rank of the Binding materials. Using them up would mean Binding isn't worth crap at these costs...

I don't know - Binding is the only way to have more than one spirit around. A drone costs a lot more than 2k

Binding only gives you a more broad choice of services. You have to Summon the spirit to be bound anyway. And mages cannot have more than one active spirit 'on standby' besides Watchers... That, and Drones don't have free will.
I'm still not sure about the Binding part and my character's tradition. It should be easier, theoretically, because in Stryker's case Binding would look more like spirit pacts... He doesn't force the spirit, only tries to convince him to become a long-term ally.

Will send updated sheet and info. on karma spent and items to acquire soon. Been swamp with work last few days. Will spend the necessary time with his contacts and will get sent. rolls for the new contacts at the end of the mission soon. If anyone has suggestions as to rigger gear that i might want, please send them. I have normally only ran meat shields in the past.

The thing is with boer acting as a fixer he doesn't have to be bound by these rules, he can buy from the black market and contacts and have it shipped (even if you need it smuggled, hire Technicolour Wings, they're the best and cheapest, just drop in on your local Tailspin bar (at least one in every major city) and ask around politely about sensitive shipping. Attitude ftw.) for the same prices as in the main rulebook, he doesn't have to buy from shops in the sectors.

Sorry sent but these Denver rules are pretty silly, not your fault, it's a problem with missions 2, i'm glad New York, which I run, isn't like this.

the notation (2) mean that you need two hits (based upon standard 5 and 6) to succed
from the above it means that you gained Tabby (5 hits) and HammerJack (2 hits)
you did not however gained Falcone as contact (got only 1 hit there), I'll post the Tabby's description shortly - just put her into into you contacts section

I tend to agree. However.
1. The distance between two sides of the zone barrier is short, that doesn't make them any simplier to cross. And there are different countries on the sides.
2. I've actually decided to avoid defferent currencies (yes there are different kind of money on the different side of the barriers, and not always they are accepted, and there different ratios went you interchange them and there is a provision to change. Yes that would be overkill :D
3. costs of living stay different in each sector
4. some sectors will have some things more expensive then others (eg. magic is high taxed in Ess Ess)
5. special things (like magic formulas and teaching or very high availability rating things) will costs differently than main source book. as a rule of thumb prices for anything magic or above 16R or anything F costs should be asked for

Summoning the spirit is free. The main benefit of binding is that you can have more than one spirit (I don't count watchers, they are more like disposable commlinks). That you had two spirits during first run was a mistake on my side. You can only have one unbound spirit at the time. (Unless I misread something very badly)

All other things like extended choice of services, or no need to resummon them after the sunset is just a cherry.
 
I don't know if free will is the benefit or otherwise, so I won't argue here.

Okay, then I decided to screw Binding and invest in something that's actually worth the money and karma, and is plausible as the story gets. That will be buying Etiquette, to simulate Stryker's people skills finally developing.

As for what Stryker is doing in the meantime, he spends most of his time on the streets, getting to know people from his circles (and with certain success), but the rest of it was spent in his 'almost free clinic'.

Personality/background Cursor was a member of a small Mercenary group, the Stray Dogs. He joined up to escape local Tech-hate in the confusion of War. After the crash and his emergence, he still isn't front-line material but he likes it that way, for now.

"From back here i can take all the time I need hacking in." He took careful aim and fired, the arrow hitting spot on the fault in their firewall. A Window popped up in his VR view "Ya' done yet Cursor?", it was his Commander. The real world snapped back into view, now he was in he dropped back back to normal, the window still in front of him. "All done boss, just waiting for your signal to shut their 'ware down", the window closed with a thought as an AR construct replaced it. A Light Switch. "Oh and thanks for remembering i cant hear you in VR this time", he grinned as the Commander gave him the thumbs up and the switch was flipped.
 
The enemy spider got one sentence out before bullets started flying. "What do you mean your cyber eyes switched off!?"
 
He wasn't left alone of course, even this long after the emergence people were still scared he'd "Hack their brains". Some wanted to string him up, some were scared of him.. A few times he thought he overheard some of the men mentioning Megacorps and labs.
 
Then Celine, the only other Technomancer in the Stray Dogs went missing. They were close, their "skills" bringing them together on dangerous Hacks and talks on Resonance. The inquiry brought up nothing. His Commander put Cursor on unpaid leave, telling him to disappear for now in case someone decided to snatch him up to, so he went to Denver and got a small apartment.
 
He should be laying low, but a Technomancers still gotta eat and pay bills.

The actual days, got mixed due to the availability of the people, but you managed to meet them all except Dean. Who seemed to be having some troubles but was unwilling to discuss it.
You certainly scored some points with the contacts you met however. The infor you gathered certainly are good. The biz is getting better - Yakuza is bullying with Triads, Mafia families bicker with themselves, and corporations are at their throats again. All in all means a fat times ahead.

Just not yet for you it seems that the debt collectors are from Yakuza. They have bought off you debts, after their several sells, and are now collecting in the face of their Triads cleaning phase. Another half is due next month.

You're not Asian. So you'd need a intuition + perception (4) test to be sure. (The target is ridiculusly high I know, but I have once seen a picture of twelve asians and I wasn't able to recognise any of the following: which of them were girls, which of them were sleepy, which of them were family. It's damn difficult to be sure. (I can dig out the picture if you wan't it's quite funny actually)

However for Mata the matter is easy, and he'll be able to share the knowledge with you anyway, so we'll skip the roll. They're rather not related, or at least not look like. Though with mixed blood (Caucasian and Asian) the result can be non-recognizable.

Ms. Johnson, create an impression of power, she's sexy and tough person, that can be influential in your future endavours. You don't want to sell cheap, but you want to sell. -3 dice.

You don't really know the background of the situation (how important it is to Johnson). You have the right skills, but you lack the facts, to back them up. And she might be unwilling to reveal them. -2 dice.

Additional aura readings from Strykers give you an edge here of +1 dice. Would be more if Stryker have some kind of detect truth spell working.

That is a total -5 dices for you (from 19 if I recall correctly), and the opposing roll against hers 13 dice pool

This certainly seem like kidnapping run. This is very well into shadow. Either called extraction or steal or forced translocation, whatever.

I am very interested on the feelings of each of you, and where do you as a runner put your border on how you make the money. You might even post this an IC thoughts posts. (make them teal or any other color).

so far I understand:
Stryker - have strong feelings against (bound by the Honor and mentor spirit)
Cursor - have feelings against (strange for the mercanery, but this might be the case of separation war casualties from civilian casualties)
Wilco - in between (understand the shadows are not as clear as we would like them to be)
Calico - is not against (there could not be any kind of moral reason to do this and if not you then somebody else will do the job while it would be you falling behind in bills)
Mata - is not against (he has criminal background)

You've also made enough cash in the past runs that there is no direct need for funding, there is no gun at your head (well, one near the Cursor, but there should be time enough for him to gather the cash anyway, or you could just lend him)

It is perfectly acceptable for me that your runner will weaken the team and walk away from the table for moral reasons. If there is a sufficient number of you left we'll make the run in reduced team, or just move on to the next mission.

I've been thinking about that earlier. it's very easy to type into google a query or phrase. it is entirely different thing to find the relevant information (such the extract I've given you) in the thousands of pages and information files it returns. Even with 50 years if data search technology improvement, there is much higher curve of data generation. You may cut that time with data searching agents/sprites (teamwork tests).
and you may also cut the time by rushing the job.

Lack of unity in the team also knocks a dice per refusing member from your payment negotiating roll. Adamant refusal from Stryker weakens you as a team. (leaving it at -6 by now, -8 if Wilco and Calico also opt out)

as for the team engagement or no, I still make it is a draw. Cursor and MT for, Wilco in between, Stryker and Calico against. The cash is for the job not per runner, so greater risk is awarded with higher pay or you have an option to hire someone as a replacement.

From you current position probably dropping down on full defense would have greatest benefits, after that returning to the grill but that will show them your backs, and after that (if you pass Mata) you could try squize yourself into that combi to the left.

I'd say that findinig cover would a complex one or more, depending on the amount of sprinting or other actions involved.

Dodgeing and weaving his way around people. times like this he's glad to be a dwarf hoping that his small size will atleast make it harder to spot him. If he happens to spot a fire alarm on his way out he will pull it. Then he sends a message to his teammates anyone close to the breaker box, if not Cursor can you take out the lights. I'll be at the van, preparing a drone to launch. Wilco, thinks a fly spy drone will be handy.

I would have suggested picking you up in the van. Wilco likes to keep team as together as possible. Besides the van has enough room for everyone. wilco can roll all passenger windows down if needed, this will give cover as well as allowus to fight as we pull awy if thats the plan. I would think we need to try and get out of here, Let the drone pick these guys up and follow them to where ever they are going to go. Then we will pay them a visit.

EDIT: I THINK that you forgot to buy weapons for your drones. Both the Lynx and Doberman have weapon mounts capable of handling LMG or smaller weapons, but I don't see the actual weapons in your card.

This was a huge feat for Stryker - he channeled as much magic as he could, and got out of it unharmed through sheer will and pure luck.

As for explaining my actions to the others: I'm taking out the leader and making a target of myself in one move. This way Cursor and Mrs. Johnson will be fine. If you cover me, as I requested, Stryker should handle the attention. Hopefully the covering fire will take some of them out...

Would be cool but not yet. You can get away with silver hair and magic glow in the eyes.

Kot, I need you to declare, whether you accepted the run during the dinner, based on what you know.
Others did. You still have an option, but I want to know before the combat ends whether you're with the team on the run or merely you're coming out with them and you part your ways.

Squeezing the truth from Johnson isn't an option for the rest of the team, unless they wish to earn notoriety point for harassing their employer. Same thing for quitting the job after accepting it.

Shooting from partial cover warrant additional -2 to roll
This is a heavy crossbow so this is medium range for it and additional -1 to roll

There is also Stryker straight between you and the target providing him a good cover. This will give him +4 to defense. If you shoot and miss, I'll ask Stryker to roll his edge against with target being number of hits by which you miss. If he fail he'll be hit instead.

With the above modifier you have 3 hits.
Do you shoot? If you change the target we'll keep the roll (just add the modifiers as relevant).

Guys, take care of the other shooters, I have Mata and Jade nearby for support. If Willco drives between us and the rest of the gang - preferably flattening both gangers, if they survive Mata's and Jade's shooting - we'll have enough cover to get rid of those pests. I've got Manabolt now, so I'll have enough to take at least one or two of them out without any serious problems.

Actually no, projectile weaponry doesn't suffer from this, i can just adjust tension and elevation and arc the shot over Stryker so it hits him still. It's a smart gun and I even have a CF designed around a program made to calculate any number of arcing trajectories all at once. One is no problem. It's why I have a crossbow not a gun.

In fact with the people in the way he should be at a penalty to know i'm shooting at him but we can cancel that out with my adjustments and say in that case we're on equal ground.

Bullets and Arrows and Bolts don't fly straight, they arc.

Do I have a free action left? cos I'll add a take aim action before the shot using my martial art.

Also did Calico actually take the shot or did the fact that the target got hit by a mana bolt stop her. Just need to check for ammo reasons.

Its a smartgun so it must be able to do it, it's the only way MERSI could work.

I can, but I like to discuss things :) I was an academic at one point.
I know that all projectiles are arcing. The difference between bullets and projectiles is in velocity. With smaller velocities, you see the arcing effect faster. Bullets at their 800 m/s starts to arc noticably about 50 meters from the shooting point I guess. And bows/crossbows much sooner. The damage in turn is multiplication of velocity and bullet weigth (regardless, but not omitting the projectile shape)
What you want to achieve is to hit a specific point shooting from other specific point. You have two variables. An angle and the strength. With pistol or crossbow you may only change the angle. with bow or throwing weapons you have a possibility to change both. Since you cannot change the strength you can only hit a certain spot by shooting at exatly two angles - close to straight (at this range the angle would be around 1-3 degrees or shooting at a very high angle (with a distance less than 30 meters, you'd need to shoot at the angle close to 87-89 degrees). The second option while certainly viable will lead to projectile coming very high, fly for a long time (much longer than the three seconds we have in the combat turn) - you need to decelerate with the earth gravity to zero and then accelerate to the original speed. The problem with this approach (other then time) is the air resistance, taking out the overall energy of the projectile, effectively reducing the damage.

Noting the above, the usable approach is to shoot close to straight, using the minute moment of time when Stryker uncover the target.
or since you are planning to shoot just over the head of the Stryker that would be a called shot, wouldn't? and if you miss wouldn't there be a huge chance that if you actually hit Stryker instead of Ganger wouldn't you shoot at Stryker's head?

I am ok with strykers invulnerability on this. Although we need to agree on action first and then make the rolls. Preferably separate posts.
other than that the crossbow probably can lower it's strength - but this will result in lowering punch -> reducing damage and we have the rules complicated enough

he is aware of your shooting possibility. The reaction chance is minimal against projectiles, the only thing that save him is that good cover Stryker is giving him as a living shield.

But given that you can't harm Stryker, I'd say 3 hits is as good as landed. He has a mere 3 reaction, even with good cover it gives him 7 dice which isn't much, and you have that free action so you can target.

Oh yeah. Did forget about buying the machine gun. Will ask our team member fixer if he can help with that after this run. As for the soft question I will have to look into that. This is my first Rigger, so I'm still working on his style. The group should pick up that he places his group needs first. ( this includes him) He has morals, but no he is not ashamed to be sticking with  group decisions. If they feel we can do this job, better than anyone else thats good. He doesn't have to be the star, as long as at the end of the day all team members are safe. Thats why he bought the crashcart over a different drone. Also, as for as any team member wanting access to a drone thats fine. The shadows are a dirty place, filled with dirty people. We are no different, we all have done jobs were not proud of. So you develop a set of rules and abide by them. Wilco's Rule #1 never leave ateam member hanging. Rule #2 I'll have another beer.

Every hit I score on my Defense roll is substracted from the enemy's attack roll. If he gets 2 hits on attack, and I get 1 hit on defense, his hits are reduced to 1 net hit which is enough only to score a shot with no bonus damage. So when I score 4 hits on Damage Resistance, the damage is shrugged off entirely.
In short - the first net hit is 'used up' to make a successful attack. Damage increases with the second, and next hits.

I might have done the math wrong:

you're right, I haven't read that careful enough

as for the corpses from things easy to spot they have guns (smg you already took) and pistols (Streetline Specials) with a bunch of ammo you can have three of them from the bodies around, the one from Gangster 5 (supposedly the same) would take a small trip to that car and back.
From other things, the Lieutenant is wearing the armor vest (the remainign gangers do not have any kind of armor)

In case of failure, we'll have a combat. IC means In Character - you post there thing written in first or third person from the perspective of Wilco
OOC means Out of Character - you post there things from the perspective of JDA (rolls results for example)

Actually, they have been quite capable of killing her. I've made the rolls before you started you mojo. And she was half dead after the first round, with lieutenant merely scratched. Next round she would be probably dead or very close to, and would need all her remaining edge to kill the boss (who by that time would be in the razors range if he lived through). Being in that shape, it would be easy enough for them to finish her in the third round.

No, if she would be left without help, she'd be dead by now. Even with the help of the team if not for you lucky rolls against the lieutenant there were high chances of them killing her.

They weren't strong, but numerous enough to make it over. That you managed to clear them without a scratch - I'm impressed.

1. Didn't I told you it is a very fancy, high class restaurant? Higher profile, higher security budget. The kind that do not like to have the light out? Chrona, I know it's hard to imagine, but hackers here are in every trid, people are VERY aware of that kind of threat. and some people take security seriously, believe me. if they put a two troll bouncers at the entrance, why do you think they wouldn't put two spiders in their node. Moreover, why do you think the team of two spiders, hired to protect the node, wouldn't be simultaneusly protecting hundred of other nodes in the Sprawl? That's how security companies work. The node response was to scramble them in. Simple as that.

2. the IC is Kitsune Watanabe - read the description, the only program it has loaded is an Analyse - rating 3 in this case.

I understand the IC is running Analyze but the node needs it's own resident analyze, not one loaded on a sprite, to roll with it's firewall

The node cant run an analyze loaded onto IC against a hacker, it needs it's own, otherwise it just rolls firewall. The IC can run a payload copy of the resident analyse against me once on the node but it's not an extended test and whatever hits the node got doesn't help it.

There is no problem with finding the logs of your presence, but to alter them you'd need admin accounts.
Since I see that is what you intended to do, and there is enough time space to do this, I'll rule that you made it to the admin account, the alarm was fired up but supressed. You deleted both camera files and raw data for accesslog.

On future rolls however, keep in mind
With User - you have access to main node functions and operate them
With Security - you have read access to monitoring tools and can load/unload security programs
With Admin - you have full access to each and every file including AccessLog.

Proceed with next node and if you intend to delete the access log you need to go for the admin account.

As of now, the matter looks like it had looked back in the Rattlesnake Grill - like a kidnapping.
Also, you are what the street thinks you are. As of now it thinks you (and I mean Stryker) do kidnapping. If you fail. It'll think you (and I mean every memeber of this team) are just not good at it. if you betray your Johnson's trust. Well ... that will make it think you (and again I mean every member of this team) betray Johnsons.

Screw Notoriety. I have two points already. And I'm playing a hopeless idealist in a dirty world. He doesn't really care what the street thinks. The street is a dumb animal. If he shows it he's strong enough to handle it, it will back off...
As for the run, I wasn't active when the matter was presented. My fault... The thing is - Stryker knows he lost it already. Whatever he does, it will haunt him. And he'd rather deal with external problems, than his own conscience...

Besides that, I'm planning to take a break and summon a Guidance spirit, because that's what Stryker would do. With his help he could at least have a glimpse of things to come. And after that he'll try digging deeper for info on Jade. He's willing to pay for it, but will try to offer magical services instead, most preferably healing and magical sensing, or augmentation.
But first I need to see the team's IC and OOC response.

1. MT takes all and keep it for spendings.

2. There is one already: SR4A 288 pg. You just haven't hit the treshold yet, once you hit 5000 nuyen per information piece and more than 3 loyalty ratings will talk about it. From the unknown person, that may or may not return favor, you contact's prefer hard cash, and actually in specific cases this money is a cost rather than the fee. like greasing Falcone's assistant to forward the call.

More to the point I'd like some voting.

1. you help the girl immediately - how?
2. you grab the girl - how?
3. you help the girl by not grabbing it - we fast forward to friday
4. you grab the girl and then help her by not turning her in - back to point 2
5. you do something else - what?

I need all votes from you. if at any point you decide AS A TEAM that you do not grab the girl (option other than 2 or 4) Mata will call the Jade and sign off from the team. He'll claim he decided against doing the job - he'll earn a notoriety point and loose the money. He can either transfer them to you or back to Jade. He will not actively work against Jade. He will not tell her anythign about you. The story behind will be that you have a disagreement in the team and parted ways.

if there will be a hard split between the team, we will resolve it in separate IC threads

I don't think any of us have a good feeling about this job. I vote we get the he'll out of it. Also not to betray anyone, but would be nice if we could somehow let the bodyguard know that he may want to have a couple of his trusted friends hang out with him over the next few days.
A thought just occured to me what if his old shadow running buddies are setting him up. "poor ol chummer, couldn't even handle a babysitting job" this thing has a lot of angles and they all stink. Just too many things can go the wrong way, and very few can go the right way. I want leave the team hanging, but some hands you just have to know to fold and this is one of them.
Also, what does everyone think about making the shop our head quarters. We could probably arrange small private quarters and split the lifestyle cost.

Hm you might be right about the vehicle versus person aspect... based on their mention of "devices" and being contact/inhalation/injection vector i always assumed they worked on external devices, like drones and vehicles. With those three vectors they must be able to move though objects due to their size and/or tools without damaging it. At 3000 a dose I too hope it's admin. Instead You could, I suppose, have it diffuse into the van an infect the passengers.

I'm looking to set up the subscription and just keep it for now, so I have it even if they knock me out I have a van, somewhere, I control. I'm just planning ahead.

Not Japanese origin - Chinese. And I'm not the one who's screwed. She is. First, Stryker will call Frost and alert him that Jade's still going after the girl, and in numbers, and to check for possible leaks. Second, he will pack his things, and move away to heal his wounds.
Then Stryker will send Spirits after Jade, turning her life into a living hell... Mostly Watchers that will harass her everywhere she goes, if that's not behind a magical barrier. Most of their assault will be verbal, and such, but the two Watchers will be accompanied by a third, that will keep it's distance and rely any moment of weakness to a Spirit of Man, that will use his Accident power on her... Oh, and he will not pay them anything. If the link he has to the sword will be severed, it's owner will receive visits from a Guardian Spirit that will beat the living shit out of him, if he can, or a Spirit of Man, that will hurt him in a more indirect way, if that person cannot be beaten easily. And the sword would be then returned to Stryker by the spirit if possible, or hidden away if not.
From time to time he will give her a moment of rest, spending some time on research and astral lookout through the Watcher spirits, looking for the two that ambushed him, and those that administered the beating. If found, the amount of harassment on Jade will be lowered to only one Watcher. The other will be shadowing her, and the third will watch the other culprit(s) in the same way, but silently, reporting to the Spirit of Man. As for the caster, he will be only under surveillance that won't trigger any alerts, until he's vulnerable - then a Guardian spirit will be sent to beat the living crap out of him...
Stryker will just switch hideouts, fend off squatters, and such, and summon spirits. Nothing else beyond keeping in shape, and making them suffer, as long as he can. If they send someone - or something - after him, he will fight. Run if needed, to fight another day. Oh, and he will send info on Jade to various matrix joints Shadowrunners and law enforcement frequently visit, if he can - though most of the time his commlink is of, and he's in a static zone.
But at any time the well-being of a spirit won't be risked for his revenge.

You might find that unacceptable, but he will do that. And the Spirits won't be unfavorable to his goals, since he will do exactly what they did - extract his vengeance through proxies, but still more honorable and worthy ones...

P.S. As for the sword, I didn't have it with me, and it wasn't nowhere they could easily find it, but hell, whatever.
P.P.S. The first hit Stryker gets, and every one after that if he can, will be met with a F4 Manabolt, through the sensory link they establish while hitting him.

I took a maximum wound penalty to the roll, assuming I'm either just barely conscious (10/11S), or healthy, but successively beaten. I'm not a helpless victim. Oh, and the blindfold doesn't stop Astral Sight, because it's not a 'sight', AFAIR.

I am sorry for it. What was given to you was how I imagine quite powerful character would react on attempts to spoil his efforts. In a way this how would I describe jumping out of the balcony. The extraction part and beating were the description of the flying down and splattering on the street, but you jumped out of the window the moment you called Frost.
Your runners are free to do whatever you wish, and it is my duty to judge and present the consequences in a fair manner.

If the latest events has temporarily reduced the fun of the gameplay (noone likes to be beaten), I hope we could turn this into the bonding experience of your team and build upon this. As of now you're no match for Jade and her resources. I don't want to make Jade a focal point of the campaign. I don't want to see you die. I can promise you chance for revenge later both against Jade and against the Blood and Mayhem - team that has bested you today.

There is another run waiting. There is a reputation to rebuild, friends to make, money to earn, debts to pay and glory to gain.

There is no need to pay karma to pay the debts. Where did you get it from, as this has certainly not been my intention? Same thing for enemy. I treat it more like contact then negative quality.

As to being out on the streets, you still have friends. I know of a certain cop, that will take care of you for sure for some time ;)

So yes, Stryker's going to die probably. Sooner or later. But he will be doing what he thinks is right and honorable. As long as he can... Maybe that will make a few shadowrunners think before they do something wrong.

EDIT: And in response to the IC post - Jade will die. Soon. In a messy way. Stryker will do whatever it takes, even if it means he'll die. If he survives, everyone who was involved in the kidnapping and killing the girl will die. He won't stop before justice is served.

And I see that outcome was obviously rigged from the start. And even our intervention couldn't change it. Meh. I couldn't play in a game I don't have any influence over the story anyway.

As I said I understand your anger. I didn't punish you for being a good guy. I described reaction to your actions. On every opportunity I've tried to tell you both IC and OOC that this will blow into your face and that Stryker is not a god in disguise but a level 1 runner closing to level 2. But you've just pressed on and now you're angry.

I am sorry that you hoped for something else. This was a tense story about revenge, betrayed friendship, rejected love, murdered wives and children. In your blind righterousness you haven't had a chance to dig it, you'd need to follow the story for that, but all you did was to tip the Frost and allow the team to disperse. All got beaten, but it is Stryker who is responsible for that. You led them to that.

I am glad you had fun. I am sorry you don't anymore. But are you sure about that your intervention couldn't change anything? Is that because I cut something from the handouts? Are you sure I couldn't have ended it other way, in plain text? You had a very easy way to change the result - all that was needed was to shoot Jade in the head back at Rattlesnake Grill, and the story wouldn't conclude that way.

Yes, Kot, some stories are rigged from the start, some are told in a way that leave you thinking. Some are like chapters in the book told only to tell the following one. Not all the books are happy ones - this one wasn't. That's why I was unsure about it even before it started.

Yes, the pic was send to you from the commlink block away from the Stryker's house. There was no prior and further trace of that access_id -> dispensable commlink. They've send the message, picked you up, throw out the commlink. The sprite has returned to you as soon as you got into Matrix zone.
