"It's not looking like I can shake her up, bad cop might be the way to go here.  I don't want any surprises though, Mia can you assense the girls and the restaurant staff and let me know if you see anything unusual?"

[Lumen]

Kuren nods,  "I have seen a few in action. Quite handy.  Though I understand the strain can be deadly.   Did you get a good night's rest?"

His mind drifted back to his military service when he witnessed spirits do amazing and terrible things.  Once J speaks again Kuren snaps back to the present.

[Chrona]

"Yes, I'm fully recovered physically and mentally from it... To be honest though I have never summoned one so human like before, it was unnerving."

"At least you are well rested.  It's important to maintain adequate performance.  J-san, I must ask what do you think our next step should be?  At least from a magical prospective."

[Chrona]

"Well I can see if there is an astral signature the Johnson missed, but he seemed pretty confidant that it was too late and been through too many hands. Which i suppose is your problem too. If we find anything substantial, like from our male DNA donor, I could try another spirit. Otherwise I'm not a detection mage.. so it could rest on conventional tracking methods I'm afraid. Sorry if I am not being much help."

[Crossbow]

Smiley will put away the money and draw Makato in close, as if relenting to her claims and her charms and wishing for some intimacy.  Putting his head right next to her ear, as if nuzzling it, he speaks quietly.  "Okay lady, since you are going to play the ice queen bit to the hilt, let's test how cool you can be.  Your mother, Mizuki Kobayashi is dead, poisoned, but made to look like natural causes.  We are investigating her murder, and you may be next, we need to get you away from all of these babysitters and minders and try and find out what you know, we can try to protect you, but only if you cooperate."

Smiley does his best to prepare to subdue and restrain her if she tries to bolt.  He is also ready to put her down if she really freaks.

[Lumen]

"If it can be found by conventional means I have no doubt we will find what we are looking for.   I am trained in both physical and digital tracking.   No offense but I would prefer it if we do not have to rely on spirits for the investigation.   Will you be able to perform your aura analysis while I'm using the device?"

[Chrona]

"Yes, in fact I will be able to tell pretty quickly". J sighed. "I'm much more used to running security, not that i handled combat, just misdirection." J turned to Kuren and smiled "Thanks for not making me seem like a project like Smiley or looking like you want to kill someone like Pipebomb."

[Lumen]

Kuren answers J's smile with a warm one of his own, "You are most welcome.   I assure you I do not share the malicious intent of our mutual acquaintance.   Actually I'm glad you brought him up.  I fear he plans on hurting a lot of innocent people and I've been considering what I should do about it. I do not wish to compromise the mission but something must be done.  What are your thoughts about him?"

[Chrona]

"Honestly?"... J switches to Japanese as if Pipebomb was nearby, " His aura terrifies me. There's nothing focused in it, he just seems filled with... Well let's say his name is apt. I guess it is worrying when he'll choose to release whats in him and whatever the target might be. Maybe it will be all right though, Huh? I mean we had the scuffle earlier, but he didn't just shoot me on sight right?"

[Lumen]

"He's too smart to shoot someone in public but I bet he has not forgotten whatever slight set him off.  I don't think he will simply fade into the shadows either.   I mean why come to a country you so clearly dispise if not to cause trouble? "

[Chrona]

"I guess so..." J slumps in his seat but seeing as they have almost arrived he straightens up and sighs again, shaking is head. "This may not be the best career move in history.. I really need to learn to defend myself better."

[Lumen]

"Don't worry J-san, we will stop him before he hurts anyone."  Kuren says with a smile, "I could teach you the basics of baton use."  He pulls out his A-Z stun baton and holds it for J to see, "This model here is so powerful even a raging troll goes down after a few taps.  Of course you'll need the proper license or risk confrontation with the authorities. "

[Chrona]

"Thanks, that would be a great help. Hm, I have a Magical Security License, a fake obviously, it covers my sword so stun-batons might be too."
