"Well hopefully it will prove useful.  Make yourself at home J-san.  It will probably take me a few hours to thoroughly investigate the comlink.  Feel free to get some food, brew some soykaf, or use my facilities if you'd like.  The bathroom is down the hall on the left."  Kuren makes sure that J is comfortable before sitting down in his favorite chair and jacking the com into his datajack.

Smiley joins Pipebomb at his car, and, acting completely naturally, picks Makato out of the seat and says to the driver, loud enough to be overheard if anyone cared.  "Let's get her inside so she can finish sleeping it off."  Then he starts heading back for the hideout.

He is very aware that girl could be faking still being out, and is ready to put her out again if he needs to.

Fischer followed Smiley inside, "We gonna be here long enough that I should booby trap the place? And what's your take on the ork being an errand boy for the guy that set up this run?"

You dive into the Matrix and start doing your thing. From the looks of things, this commlink is fresh off the shelf and nothing has been done to beef up its security. Within an hour and a half, you're in with Admin privileges.

@Smiley & Pipebomb

You get Makoto's limp body out of the van and into the apartment. You get her into the chair and tie her up with the rope you just bought. It seems she hasn't yet come around, so you unpack the goods you bought at the store.

[Crossbow]

Smiley gets the girl into the chair and starts to tie her up as he replies, "It doesn't surprise me, I haven't been in the shadows very long, but from what I hear, if your Johnson says he is telling you everything there is to know up front, he is probably lying, or he doesn't know much at all."  Smiley makes sure her hands, feet and chest are secured to the chair.  When finished he steps back to check his work and looks for approval of his efforts from the explosives guy before continuing.  "One good thing about it, if this girl is our Johnson's love child, we will probably know soon if Jubei got called back to the home office.  I wouldn't sweat it too much beyond that though.  I wonder where the others are?"

Fischer looked the woman over, "If you think she could be slippery, you should secure her elbows too. That way it won't matter if she can get her hands free. Gagging her would also be a good idea." He then shrugged, "No clue, Kuren's probably still analyzing the forensics, but as for the others..." He turned back to the woman, "Better question though, is how do we play this? If she is our employer's kid, doubt he'd like it if I strapped her to a car battery. The old tried and true good cop/bad cop? Though I'm guessing your the one that knocked her out, so I doubt you could play good cop. Maybe bad cop/psycho cop? I do still have the grenades in my car."

"I don't think I want to do anything more than scare her a bit at the moment, we already pulled her out of her element.  She is probably going to be ready to start talking as soon as she wakes up." Smiley pulled out his comm and called the others this time, to ensure he got a response.

[Lumen]

*No logs, no calls, no contacts,  and a welcome message dated after ToD.*  Kuren updates the case file denoting the com as an unused burner.  An icon of an old-fashioned phone rang out and flashed in his AR.

He establishes a vid call and greets Smiley with a smile, "Ohayōgozaimasu Smiley-san.  How was your evening?"

[Crossbow]

"It is still continuing, though this is probably the first time I have said that and it not been a good thing.  I am at a safe house, you guys need to head over here so we can all compare notes and get on the same page." Smiley will send along the address and passcodes.

[Lumen]

"Sounds like a good idea.  J-san and I will be there shortly."

Kuren ends the call and turns to J, "That was Smiley, he has a safehouse where we need to meet up and discuss the investigation thus far.  Want to stop for lunch on the way?"  As he's talking he slides on his trench coat, shoves the baton in a pocket and puts on his hat.

"Sure! That sounds great!" During the matrix investigation J had time to run his clothes through a quick wash too, and looks, for the first time in a while, half way presentable. He enthusiastically follows Kuren outside. "So whats good around here?"

[Lumen]

"There is a fantastic noodle cart just a few blocks down, right by the subway entrance.  We'll swing by on our way."  Kuren leads the way to the cart and orders a few extra cups for the others, *From the sounds of it Smiley could use some food.*  During the journey he checks his news feeds again, seeing if any of the mornings stories had been updated and reading through any new interesting articles. 

Upon arriving and seeing Pipebomb's car outside Kuren stops and signals J to stop.  "One second J-san.  Let's take a little preventative measure while the opportunity presents itself."  He pulls out a stealth RFID tag and programs it to send it's coordinates to an encrypted channel and he kneels down next to the back bumper of the car.  Reaching up underneath he attaches the tag to the frame of the vehicle.

He stands, brushes off his pants, and turns back to J, "Shall we then?"
