No one is forcing you to download them after they're sent out.
This is true, but I'm not personally wont to pay for something I already own except in very few circumstances.

I must say I'm honestly a little surprised at the attitude in your response; it may not have been intended as cutting, but that's how it came across to me.

Anyway, Harebrained Schemes've got my 25 bucks, and if they do open up for options they'll get some more, simple as that.

The project is already funded. Wow. Let's hit those higher goals.
I seriously expect them to hit the 300k mark at the end of the night (GMT +1 here).

And then?

Is that Hong Konk sourcebook an older supplement or something Catalys will throw in for SR5? Because in case of the latter, I might not be able to hold back...

From the FAQ:
About the brand new tabletop gaming SOURCEBOOK for SR:HK - what edition of the rules are you using?

Since Shadowrun: Hong Kong is set in the 2050s, we plan to support MULTIPLE editions of the tabletop game.

I definitely agree on the levels. I can't justify going from $25 to $75 when all I really want is the game, the e-novel, and the new Hong Kong sourcebook. If they add alacarte options I'd pay 10-25 USD extra for the Hong Kong sourcebook (upping the pledge from 25 to 35-50), but I could care less about the toolbox seeing as how I already have it and the artbook isn't really my thing.

This is a great idea. They could do add-ons only for the digital rewards (as managing the physical ones would  be a burden) and they would get more money rather easily (I would double my pledge probably in that situation).

250K in under 10 hours. If they're smart they'll take what they have and not go nuts wth the add ins but I would love to get a second city again.

Looking at their text and video pitch, I think they have a plan for some more strech goals that would fit with their vision and schedule. Can't wait to see how it goes.

I'm definitely really interested in the HK splatbook and how they'll turn out the setting.  In modern Shadowrun, Wuxing is the big 10 AAA megacorp that dominates Hong Kong and I imagine they still are a major driving force in 2050...

But Wuxing didn't achieve AAA status until 2059, 2 years after Dunklezahn's Will granted them 3 major bequests.  They didn't fully consolidate until after 2064 when the Matrix Crash let them gobble up a lot of Asian corps.  Interesting to see if HBS can tie that sort of thing in.

It's a new book being written, yes.

I should point out that I asked HBS about whether or not I could get the Hong Kong book separately or as an add-on, and they said they don't have the rights to sell the book independently.  Dunno if Catalyst is planning on selling the book independently, but that would be some pretty damn good info to have.

Any idea if the book will be set in the current timeframe?
