I am recruiting for a 'back story run' that will end in a lot of deaths.

The story has 9 runners. Though they are a regular team, they are rarely permanently in each other's pockets.

I want anyone who makes a character to re-use an old / existing character or make one using the karma gen or life-styles methods (from run faster). Don't put a huge amount of effort in  The characters are described below and what I put in the descriptors are important, other things are up to you (some do not even have names). I have put a guidance number of K that you should use to make or balance your characters.

The Diamonds are:
gilga #1 Deckert | Face | Charismatic | Intelligent | Leader | Male | Experienced, ex-military | UCAS / CAS / British / German (your choice) | Good with cars | 875K
Triskavanski: #2 Number 2 | Secret Technomancer - only one member of the team knows this | Female | Experienced and ex-corp | CAS | Good with cars | Contacts in London | 865K
LOCKED #3 Juliette Cul'yn Mage | Experienced, ex-corp | Good with cars | 840K
Mercy Merchant: #4 Razor Girl | Female | streets | British (your choice or which) | 810K
Jayde Moon: #5 Mirriam | Decker| Female | In-experienced, streets | 775K
LOCKED #6 Marcus | Face | Male | Experienced, ex-military | UCAS / CAS (your choice) + British | 825K
Jack_Spade:#7 Tungsten | Experienced, ex-military | German | 825K
#8 Maggie | Rat Shaman| Female | Experienced, ex-military | 810K
Saithor #9 Medic | ex-military | 810K

What you will have is 3 cars provided to you so you don't need to buy one. The team is split into 3 groups: #1,4,5 #2,6,7, #3,8 9

Ideally I'd like to have 5 players. It will be quick and dirty and, just to lay it on the table, the story only needs 1 definite survivor (though things will be more clear as you tell me the story, as I think that there may be 1 other.)
I will open the 2 threads today, 26th June, for IC and OOC. I will post last thing on Sunday the introduction and the initial story. All characters made by that time will for sure be included. Anyone coming later: for example #6 will immediately become NPC as may #3.
I want an OOC thread describing yourselves to the rest of the team.

Added stuff from later posts:
when creating a character:
Balance everything else out first and then (and only then) increase the creation cap on 3 skills and 1 attribute +2 your genetic norms. This applies to everyone bar #4, #5, #8, #9 (you get a creation cap of 3 skills and 1 attribute +1 your genetic norm) (genetic norms = racial norms)

SINs
The team... you's guys... are currently in London. You are aware that your job may be International in execution so you need SINs to cover that. you'll need stuff for Eurozone, the UK and at least UCAS and CAS. Other zones might benefit you

Cars
The cars you have are stolen, top of the range Range Rover. For all 3, use the Rover Model 2072 (in Chummer5 under TRUCKS and also present in SHR5RCP) as base but Spd 5, Accel 3, Armour 15. Assume that the work to prevent someone coming after the cars has been done: you outsourced acquiring the cars. You have had these vehicle for 2 weeks. Any modifications made in that time have had 1/3 of the time (5 days) to be made as 2 cars are always 'on the job'. Deckert's car needs great comms so include that in your buy. DO NOT ABSORB THE COST OF THE CAR IN YOUR CHARACTER BUILD! it is FREEEEEEE!

This Run
You are 3 weeks into the run... And you're bored... and Deckert has you running maneuvers to keep you sharp... Also: Deckert knows more than you and you all know that he plays hard and fast with the rules so if he's keeping a secret then you're unlikely to make him spill. He's always been a good leader, kept you all out of the gutter and you're never very short of money. Deckert does seem to go with more People Extractions but this run is different.

Knowledge
You all also get Street Knowledge: London at 2 + Int (for free)

Comms
If Deckert, or I, catch you using anything worse than an Hermes then you're fired.

I put up IC and OOC posts.

An interesting concept... although a little hazy on how the character stuff you want works.

I might be interested in this, especially as you've got some good details for using Lifestyle Modules, but the karma listed, is that total karma from go to woe? Or karma to used after you finish with the life modules?

Now when it says 865k does that mean the karma gen value? I'm assuming it does.

Cause I could go in for the secret technomancer myself. Is there any possibility of letting her initiate from the start?
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?

An interesting concept... although a little hazy on how the character stuff you want works.

These are all characters whose deaths make up an important part of the actual run that follows. The bits of the characters I've identified are important to the story. This run is the prelude to the actual run and the story created here will determine some of the direction of the follow up... Imagine this is the forward or the prologue of a book.

I might be interested in this, especially as you've got some good details for using Lifestyle Modules,
I love lifestyle modules... It constrains you but also liberates you.

Lifestyle Modules, but the karma listed, is that total karma from go to woe? Or karma to used after you finish with the life modules?

Listed Karma is a guidance for how much awesomeness the runner is and is TOTAL "go to woe" karma. In my head any character at 850K and above is a serious runner with some minor renown. Above 900K is serious money. I don't mind how you make the character but use this as a guidance.

Now when it says 865k does that mean the karma gen value? I'm assuming it does.

Yes | also see above comments.

Cause I could go in for the secret technomancer myself. Is there any possibility of letting her initiate from the start?

She would not initiate but submerge... yes, knock yourself out. If you do go for this character then I will tell you who you think knows and why.

Also: just so you know - I am big on secrets... Secrets that characters have from other characters especially.

I wouldn't mind looking at the Rat-Shaman... someone like that in the military could be rather interesting.

Yeah, there is a reason, why sum to ten is my favorite system for now (more and varied life paths might change that though)

the paths are fine, it's the karma spending after that... attributes are horrifically expensive.

Ok, meet #7

MILITARY BRAT
MILITARY SCHOOL

LAW ENFORCEMENT
TOUR OF DUTY: MERCENARY (Special Forces)

Feldwebel (Sergeant) Wolfgang "Tungsten" Ram (not his real name) was bred for war: His parents were both members of the armed forces of the ADL and as long as he can remember he was always somewhere on a military installation. School and even university where sponsored by the military. When the goblinization hit him at age 12 it just gained him recognition among his peers. Military was all he knew for a long time and consequently he applied for a job in the military: He became a MP.
His luck ended when he was implicated in a major weapons theft as an accessory. A suspiciously convenient offer arrived just after he had been arrested by his colleagues: Saeder-Krupp wanted to hire him. They provided layers and a new identity for Tungsten. In return they asked him for a few years of his time and that he would install a plethora of chrome in his body. They, only stopped when it was clear that anymore would kill their soldier. Of course it didn't help that he received primarily augmentations that had belonged to his predecessor or where made by the cheapest contractor.

When his contract was up for renewal he took the chance and vanished into the shadows.
All that chrome has deadened Tungsten's feelings. He hurts himself just to be able to feel something. Combat is one of the few things that make him feel alive anymore and so he heads into it with death defying bravado - or as others call it: A death wish.

I am very up for other, self made and published on this forum, life modules. I took the UCAS one and made a British Module with a few changes - adding in the Britishishness. PM me the details if you want to do something similar.

I think that the 'sum-to-ten' is the most D&D of the systems. I am very fine with you using that, just use the idea behind the experience level of character...

Please remember: I'm happy you reusing old characters. Most of you have to die anyway.

Not if we're metal.

Cause the Metal will never die.

I'm utterly surprised how many life modules seem to just give +logic +will. and how many don't really give any physical stats.

What happens when you max out all the skills in a skill group?
