Well I find it kind of silly that it takes Kynos less than a second to open a security door -but what can I do. I imagined something like several tense moments, hacking through the material like in movies. While bad things are happening inside that room, but well I guess that is not possible in SR.

Would you be happier, if Kynos just kicked in the door?

15 DV - 11 after soak, plenty enough to fill up the 8 points of structure.

Being a shadow runner is all about being prepared for when shit hits the fan and always having an exit strategy. Kynos (at least as I envision him) is not a character that is easily contained or stopped.

finishing moves gives an immediate second strike if the first deals damage although I did forget the +2 dicepool for the second shot.  Wouldn't have helped anyway missing 2 dice from second attack: 2d6t5 0

@Jack clarification, Kynos sees no spirit - it is in one of the rooms there is smoke and he is with the back to it (as it materializes in response to him knocking the door). and his perception roll is not so hot considering. He'll see it soon enough...  I'll let Irris target it with 2 hits on perception.

@Ayato - the guard will use his stun baton to parry your sword:
Parry + Dodge: 19d6t5 5
He will then attack back: on initiative: 17

Strike Ayato (touch only): 17d6t5 7 only 5 hits are kept due to accuracy limitations. Damage is 9S -5 electricity - and attacker wins on a draw.  The stun baton has reach 1 and I think the katana has reach 2 (so does not matter now, but Ayato should have +1 to attack  and the guard -1 to defend).


Continue resolving:
First pass at 12 the secretary, pulls an Ares predator and fires at Ayato:
Fire gun: 14d6t5 1
This does not look very bright:

So we almost have enough to resolve first phase. I am waiting for Irris to declare action - 2 hits on perception to spot the spirit, otherwise she can use a delayed action and start operating on phase 2 (or do something not directly combat related).

Yeah, I get that. That's why I wrote up the sequence: Opening door, Spirit materializes, Irris gets to act (which alerts Kynos), second Ini Phase, Kynos gets to shoot into the smoke (I removed 6 dice from the roll for bad visibility)

It would be more advantageous to pop Kamikaze in your last ini phase, as the drug will only start to work at the beginning of the next round. Hurting the spirit before it can act is by far the preferable option.

Irris can see that the spirit is a F6 spirit of air. (optional powers are elemental attack and energy aura)


Okay so I'll roll dodge for the sprit:

Dodge: 16d6t5 3 against Irris.  Miss - but contact was formed.  Irris should resist 12P -6 AP from the spirits energy aura. (I think it is electricity damage).

Dodge from  Kynos attack:

Dodge: 11d6t5 6 (took of -5 for FA burst).
so the bullets fly right through it or something cool.


We are on initiative phase 2: 
Kynos 12 (attacked spiirt and missed)
Ayato 9 (reduced 5 initiative due to parry action)
Guard: 7
Irris: 3 (attacked spirit and got electrocuted 12DV -6 AP)
Secratery:2
