Actually all the translations are quite good. The book deals with Bauto after the events of GITS 2. and concerns that he might be undergoing personality fragmentation and dissasociation like the Major, who is now Something Else, and part of his lifeline really is his dog that helps keep him sane.

I'll have to go back and read it again for a better synopsys. Also the three GITS Novels were pretty good too.

Have to agree the translations were really well done.

Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky.  Played the (Horrible) video game, the book is much better.  Had to get it from the UK, however...  (Luckily the book store handled the shipping!)

Read that zear ago. With some expectations. Fail IMO. childish point and unbelievable main character, many decisions unnatural and forced by author...some good parts, well as a whole 2/10 by my opinion. But I dont want to ruin your fun :p

Best Zombie book. EVER!

The way it's written, I honestly think someone who didn't know better might believe it had actually happened.

Even with removing half the material, the audiobook is one of the best ever. Henry Rollins as T Sean Collins and Eamonn Walker as PAul Redeker still give me chills.

I also hear there's a movie in the works, as well, centering around the "Hero City" chronology from the books. Haven't heard anything about it in like a year, though.

Development Hell, alongside the stupid idea of turning it into an action movie.

I just finished "The Last Ditch" by Sandy Mitchell.  Its a Ciaphas Cain novel.

Anyone have any recommendations for or against "Cryptonomicon" or the Silent Empire collection? I read "Doomsday Vault" by Steven Harper who authored the Silent Empire series and liked it fairly well, so I'm leaning that direction. I have never read anything by Neal Stephenson.

I felt a great disturbance in the force. As if a significant plotline suddenly cried out in terror... and was suddenly silenced.--Torg @ Sluggy.com

Reading "Captain's Fury" by Jim Butcher.  He took two really bad and overused ideas and combined them to make awesome!

Eagerly awaiting the next Dresden Files book, but I gotta wait for it to come out in softcover.  :(

Neuromancer by William Gibson. I'll admit it, I've never read it before. It's a bit dated but still it is a heck of a good read.  I've also been reading the 'Airship Pirates' RPG book. Good stuff too.

Reading "The Mocking Program" by Alan Dean Foster and it's proving to be a possible source of ideas for Aztlan or other formerly Hispanic regions in future missions when I may send my players 'south of the border'.

Hey, I'll admit, that's why I read a lot of the science fiction and urban fantasy that I do.  Great source for ideas :)
