6k sounds fair, if it's an easy job. But I doubt that, Space thinks to himself, while he sips his coffee and looks at Silk. This negotiatio-thing was her part now.

When Silk walked in, Jun jumped up and ran over to stand by her side, as if she were an angel sent to save him.  He followed her into the back room one pace behind and to her right side with both of his hands on the handle of his leather briefcase.

After Joe greeted everyone, Jun looked at him annoyed.
"I have told you before that I do not like to work for salary.  Salary insults the quality of a person's work while also assuming equal investment and equal risk.  I would not ask Andromeda to risk sacrificing one of her attack drones, knowing that her cut of the job's pay would be the same regardless.  If she knew instead that atypical losses would be covered before shares were calculated, this would no longer give her pause.  If I was to be payed 6000¥ regardless of whether I was on point, or staying behind for backup, why would I risk my life by going in first?  It is a bad system."

CJ lays his head on the desk. "Someone please explain why she sounds like a Corpse Contractor? If you all agree I'll make it a lump sum." He sighs.

It's part extraction/kidnapping and part Item retrieval/theft
Sounds like someone misplaced some valuable piece of Cyberware in someone who forgot to pay. his bills Andromeda almost giggles at this thought, but then continues to rationalise. But with this guy it's never the way it looks. retrieve a guy from a club VIP lounge, deliver a body to the Barrens, both previous tasks turned out to be much more then they seemed at start.
Then she heard the smal talk betwee LJ ans CJ.
There he goes again she thought about the small stunt LJ had pulled. At least he has a point this time.
"If you could elaborate on the "/" part we might have a deal, but at least for now you have my full attention."
She mentioned the pay not, as she did not want to be pulled in the discussion started by LJ and that was why they had Silk on the team, to drain the Johnson dry.
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best and expect nothing!

"Though not certain, it is likely retrieval cannot happen where you find them."

"Though not certain, it is likely retrieval cannot happen where you find them."

And that means? Sounds like a big unknown variable to me, a bit more detail would be appriciated, e.g. what kind of trouble will stand between us and our target?

"We all know the nature of the work offered here.  Nothing you have told us could not have been assumed prior to our arrival.  If this is all you will say before we agree to the work, then is not our presence here the equivalent of assent?"

"I'd rather have words in succession be the assent. You'll be looking for them in a high end place, expect difficulty but nothing I don't think you can handle. That better?"
He sighs. "Whether extractions necessary will be up to you."

His original good mood was waning.

Wow you guys are worse that Captain Clayton in 2047 when I asked for a 2 week off to see my dying Gramma." Hank said with a laugh. I mean, I'm all for professional and stuff  but can we cut the crap ?

I'm interested but I also prefer the bundle instead of a per person payment. Still no biggie.

Noise leans up against the wall of the meeting room, letting everyone else talk.  This wasn't her part of the job.  Sure she'd appreciate getting more pay, but, if she piped up now she'd most likely just mess things up.

She pulls a cigarette from her pack and sticks it in her mouth, waving a hand at CJ as he starts to re-administer his warning about smoking.  She simply wanted the butt between her lips and makes no move to light it.

Maybe thats the reason he was the Captain, no Space, that's rude, Space thinks to himself when he looks at Hank, I wouldn't call it crap, it's simply: calculating the risks. Space looks back at CJ.
"High end region sounds nice, means that I can do some matrix mojo there, unfortunalty everybody else too. Time for preparation?"  he ask the Johnson, considering that time is money and the less time they have for preparation the more money the need to bribe their way to the target.

Time for preparation?"

"No proper time limit from me, your window should be a week, preferably I'd like it to take that long, maximum, too."

Jun was still waiting for someone to take up the reigns of leadership.  It seemed like being obnoxious and caustic wasn't enough to spur the more tactful people in the room to action, so maybe he could create some action of his own.  Sew derision and see if someone tried to pull them back together.

Monday August 13, 2073; 18:58, Boyle's Clinic, Seattle
Silk; PAN=Passive SIN:  Aswan Cuttler Rt.4

Silk walked in and nodded politely to everyone. "Hello, good to see you all again." Her mood seemed to be set on doing business, the rain had taken most of her happy mood away. It chanced when she noticed the troll, she beamed a pearly white smile at him and said "Sure thing, big guy. Keeping the place safe? Hope the cops didn't cause any problems." She accepted the mug.
She looked at... was that LJ? If it was, it was a pretty damned good disguise, she could learn a thing or two from him, her... whatever. But who else that size would be here at this moment. She showed her curiosity with a frown and slightly bowed her head towards the minute figure.

... moments later ...

She sat quietly in her chair, observing her employer and her team. It wasn't much different from last time, only now the hacker didn't walk out of the job immediately. Noise quiet but alert, like a bunch of armed people could drop in any second. Andromeda focused and to the point, Hank uncomfortable with a tense situation and trying to loosen it up. The gnome seemed to enjoy antagonizing people. She did have to hand it to her(him?), (s)he knew what buttons to push. She waited and listened. Ah, that's what you think is my button? Okay, I'll play along. Nobody else seems to feel like biting anyway.

Comm @Team: "Enough of this, LJ... or Jun. -We really need to find a handle for you that doesn't change daily.- We'll work out the payment amongst ourselves just like we did last time, when the job's done. If you're unhappy with your cut, be sure explain why yours should be bigger than that of the rest of us when the time comes. In the end there isn't a difference between us dividing 6 times 7 or simply 42k, but there will be a difference between the pay we can get from a Johnson in a good mood or one in a bad mood. So please, try not to get the Johnson annoyed over details we can sort out ourselves."

"Joe, you know the fact that we're all here means we're interested. Now I know you're nothing like him and you've shown us a lot more respect and professionalism, for which I'm sure we're all grateful.", she pointedly looked at some of her team members before continuing. "But after the mess your ex-higher-up had us walk into you can't blame some of us for being a bit on their guard, can you?" She breathed out audibly, a small change in her expression indicated that she'd much prefer to talk business instead of exchanging compliments and small talk.
"So you found Ragley? Good.
A week to do the job, that's certainly a better than last time. We might actually have time to do some legwork and, you know, bring gear. I suppose that's at least some good news."
, she shifted slightly on her chair.
"But after the info from last week it still took this long before you could track him down and gather enough info to hire us. That would mean he's either not in Seattle or he is, but laying low and very much on his guard. Either way, that complicates things a lot... Not to mention that from the way you're describing the job it sounds like it's two jobs."
