I posted it on the background of my character, but if you wanted more detail here it goes.

I'm actually kind of stumped, I was thinking of something to help him register sprites or compile them in return whatever I compile or register, Randal would auto use one of it's success to do a bidding of his own on what he thinks would benefit or help Hammor.

I mean going through resonance bond a few times...i'm slowly thinking this would not be so hot for the technomancer i made. Anyone else got an idea or suggestion for this?

That sounds good. Randal will add all of his resonance to your fading resistance pool for compiling/decompiling--in return he gets one service from each sprite, in addition to your providing sprites for reassembling. Sound ok?

Also, I think you are still 10 points over the limit. I count 180 for your primary attributes.

Yup, my bad...his strength is 6 not 7. Updated the sheet.

Also the fading sounds good to me. Compiling/ registering or did you actually mean decompiling a sprite.

How do you feel about allowing solo adventures? If you are allowing characters to take side jobs and act independently, I will make my character slightly differently...

As a side note, Thecommabandit, the Addiction quality description actually specifies that Cigarettes and Alcohol are invalid as choices. You have to pick something that has a real and dangerous effect. So none of that special chewing gum either ;)

Did anyone actually end up on a mage?

Wrong, tequila. Alcohol is valid, nicotine is not. In fact, it mentions Alcohol in the same breath as drugs and BTLs.

Quote from: SR4A, pg 93
Addiction
Bonus: 5 to 30 BP
A character with the Addiction quality is addicted to alcohol, drugs, BTL chips, or a similar substance with a detrimental effect on the character’s health (note that nicotine, caffeine, and sugar do not count). The value of this quality depends on how severe the addiction is: Mild, Moderate, Severe, or Burnout. Additional addiction rules, including listings of drugs and roleplaying guidelines, can be found on pp. 256–259.

He may be thinking back to the original SR4 core book which I believe did nix alcohol as a viable choice for the quality.

And the wording didn't change between the editions.

Aside from the beginning, where your character will be on their own, I don't want to focus on solo adventures, just because it seems hard enough to move the action along in an online game when everyone's not all doing their own thing. I mean, very small encounters will be no problem, but adventure-length episodes featuring a single character will probably not happen. Then again, a character's solo actions might turn into something that involves the entire group.

Also, I never understood why tobacco and caffeine addictions aren't allowed. The people I've known going through nicotine/caffeine withdrawal definitely had negative dice pool modifiers.

Withdrawal maybe, but taking them is too harmless. The others you want to take, even though they are harming your body on the spot, while smoking doesn't impede you, only many years later... that's not worth any BP.

I wondered why too, but after looking through the drugs listed in SR4 and Arsenal, I can see why. All of the drugs have immediate negative effects. You crash on all of them. Nicotine and caffeine might have bad withdrawal symptoms, but they don't really have any crash after they wear off.

I've changed the addiction to deepweed. It lets me keep the whole smoking schtick.

The solo question was focused more on whether or not a Hacker could make a tidy sum on the side by cracking nodes and selling off paydata by his lonesome. Seems like a yes, so here goes! I'll have him up in an hour or so.
