>>>>>[Hmm. With me, its not trying to figure out why someone wants me ventilated, but rather which reason they're using today. Though its been about a week since the last time someone shot at me. (For the record, that one was expected. Man wanted a way out of his prenup, so he hired me to help get the wife to invalidate it. When the wife found out, she was... displeased with me. She wasn't any happier about the recording, either.)

Longshot, if you need a place to lay low, and you're in Seattle, head out to the Barrens, and squat in one of the old geothermal plants on the lava fields. You'll have to negotiate with the locals, but if you bring a few cases of beer, that should get you in, at least for a couple nights. Or if you're looking to dispose of the guy who tried playing tag with you, there's a safehouse run by a couple ghouls who would gladly take the meal as payment.]<<<<<

>>>>> [Stoddard Security seemed to be under the impression that me and 3 of my crew had forfeited our breathing privileges.  They made their opening statement in Tukwila, and the debate continued southwards. It was finally settled on the edge of the lava fields, actually - thanks, Iceblade, we're going to make a donation to the locals in gratitude for their forbearance. Seriously though, Stoddard were acting like Lone Star at their worst.] <<<<<

>>>>>[No problem, Longshot. I keep one of my boltholes in that area, so I know what the locals are like. If you want to set up a more permanent bolthole, I suggest finding one which gangs control which structures, first, and make sure your metatype fits their view of what 'locals' should be. Don't be an Elf trying to set up shop in Spikes territory, and all that. Personally, I'd look for one controlled by the Ancients or the Cutters. At least they'll be strictly business with you, as long as you pay your 'protection' money on time, and maybe let them crash there while you're not in.

Of course, there are times when you gotta go deeper than that. In that case, invest in some radiation shielding, and head to Glow City. As long as you can deal with the locals (who are batshit crazy), and have protection from radiation, it is the best place to drop off the radar, and still be inside the sprawl. Even the syndicates won't follow you in there, usually. Personally, I just leave the country when things are getting that hot, but if you don't have resources for that, then sleeping in a hazmat suit is still better than kicking back in jail, or the morgue.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Depends on who's running the jail and what kind of "deal" you have worked out with them. I've spent a few nights in a couple of Sioux jails intentionally, and walked out when I was good and ready. But around Seattle, yeah better to deal with locals or rads than the law or other sec forces.]<<<<<

>>>>>[A mid-level executive wouldn't be able to get those kinds of things for his 'garden' unless he was more than just a mid-level executive, or there was something going on at his house that needed that kind of protection. Especially not in Seattle. Even if it is on corporate property, having those things in a populated area is asking for trouble.

As for a delivery mechanism, you could get a drone rigged with a chemical sprayer adapted to cold temperatures, and use that. Or just get your mage to manabolt the thing until it is well and truly dead. The things are resistant to magic, but if you put enough into it, you can kill it. You want to be well away from the thing, through, to prevent it from targeting you with its compulsion powers. Or you could always just leave them be, and use magic to send the guards to the thing. Trust me, nothing gets corpsec angrier than having their own security systems start attacking them.]<<<<<

But there may be something more to this tree shipment after all - we're getting indications that the Azzie executive is being a middleman on the deal. No confirmation yet, but it now appears the trees are destined for somewhere in the Middle East.] <<<<<

>>>>>[Heh. So it was as I said a few days ago. Middle manager doesn't get that kind of thing in his yard, period, unless there's more going on. Although I'm not sure how well the Diablos will do in the middle east. The heat'll be fine for them, but they are rain forest/jungle plants. I can't imagine the very un-rain forest/jungle climate will be to their liking. Possibly using them indoors? Otherwise it'll probably cost a ton to keep them watered. But then, I'm no parabotanist, I just know what I've read on magic boards and briefing papers.]<<<<<

>>>>> [If any of you have solid contacts inside Aztechnology (or even Aztlan-the-nation/subsidiary), I ask you to work them.  That Sangre del Diablo deal turned out a lot more worrisome than it started. The Middle East connection turned out to be a smokescreen - for what, I don't know, but I've got a e-doc of some kind that was in a heavily protected & encrypted section of the Azzie guy's commlink (why it wasn't in someone's headware is another question).  Problem is I don't know what it says - it's written in some script that no one I know can identify, much less translate.  The good news is that this particular shipment of SdD trees is kaput, thanks to our vigourous applications of N2, herbicide and mojo.] <<<<<

>>>>>[For those of you that are keeping track, one week left until the wedding. I've been working on a few last-minute details, mainly involving travel visas and other documentation for some of the guests. There were a couple unexpected legal snafus, what with updating SIN registries, updating my will, and the like. Yes, I have a will. Given that I'm in a position where people like to shoot at me on a regular basis, it is only prudent. Xerena, I sent over the forms you'll need to fill out if you're going to accept that Tir Tairngir SIN.]<<<<<
