I can post daily to every other day. I'm eastern standard. Shade is a Infiltrator/Face. I'm a little scared of how many infiltrators there are. I will say again that I'm still new to both Shadowrun and the play by post format if that affects the final decision.

Just on a side note, has anyone watched Burn Notice? It's a relevant point that every main character there is a primary infiltrator / secondary [something].

Infiltration should usually be a group effort anyway. A team is either sneaky, or 'in your face'. A mage could cast invibility/stealth/sound barrier/silence spell on the team members, a spirit use their conceal power, a face talk their way in or distract while the other get in, a hacker edit the camera feeds, or who ever could buy a state of the art stealth/camouflage suit.
From what I read everyone will somehow be able to take on the infiltrator role.

That is not the primary quality of my character, but she has what it takes to infiltrate anything.

I'm on daily Central Timezone, and Mr Fabulous is certainly a Melee Combat specialist, although he's facier and sneakier than the average troll.

Character: Shadow
Archetype(in order of strenght): short range combat, infiltration, limited hacking, can default on demolitions with decent dicepool.

Shadow can use almost any weapon as he defaults AGI skills with 9 dice, but he is deadly with his  semi automatic heavy pistols.

Anyone can take a look at shadow if you use the link in my signature.

Posting every day should be no problem.

Infiltrator is actually my character's role, so I disagree somewhat. Just because you throw a couple points in one stealth skill doesn't make you an Infiltrator. My character can do everything you just listed (except for the mage stuff) and more.

Face isn't even a role in this game, but my infiltrator has it covered. He's a decent AR Hacker, has stealth skills, athletic skills, and can fight okay too. He's got ruthenium alloy on all his primary armor, and a silenced, thermal suppressed gun (and bullets) that can get through a MAD scanner with no effort. He's got concealed climbing gear and plenty of other B&E gear, including nanite slicers. He's got a wardrobe full of different clothes to fit each role, a face case, and AR makeup. I could go on and on. This is an infiltrator 100%, and doesn't fit any of the other roles requested, because I designed him to be one.

I'm not saying only the infiltrator can infiltrate or assist in it. I'm saying he/she is the one designed for it.  Best to have someone who  knows what they are doing in these matters, instead of just completely winging it every time. The hired infiltrator is a time-honored character in stories. The Hobbit, James Bond, Star Wars, ect.

And yeah, Teafo, I really hope more games get started up too. Too many players on the Pbp board and not enough GMs. It's unfortunate. I'd start one if I were any good at GMing and actually liked doing it, but unfortunately that isn't the case.

Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8:00)
Can post at least once a day on most occassions
My character (Mr. Smith) is a pure Face, so it looks like I'm out of this game.

Face works under the same rules as infiltrator so don't count yourself out just yet

As for the role of infiltrator, I counted it separate in the archetypes for two reasons. First, because there may be a time when the infiltrator has to go on his own to get past some chokepoint and make it back to let the rest of the team through, and second because, as you say, just about everyone will have some infiltration ability, but there is a big difference between the guy that  can sneak past the guard in the tower vs the guy that needs to make himself seem like he is the guard in the tower to the rest of the bad guys after either he (or a ranged specialist) takes out the actual tower guard.

@Joker: I am with you on this, Infiltrators are great specialty character and yours seems like an expert at it. My point was just that it takes the whole team mentality and assistance to be sneaky and that there are many ways to reach this goal. If a Troll street Sam comes blasting everyone he sees won't do your character any good (nor the rest of the mission either to be honest!). Your character will certainly be expert at Infiltration and the guy to go to, but I am glad to see most of the other characters are as far as I can tell on the discreet side to.

I agree. A certain amount of discretion is required in order to be a successful shadowrunner. It's not quite the same thing as just being a hired gun. There's more subtlety to it than that. Being a team player and communicating is a big part of it too. It makes for better roleplay and more satisfying runs as well.

I'm east coast, and I'll be posting daily as required. more if sr4.com goes tapatalk.
I have a technomancer on file as well as a combat mage (specifically a stone dwarf with a very business-focused hammer).

alternately, I can probably whip up just about anything to fill a gap if we have one.
